- Imran Khan was born on October 5, 1952, in Lahore, Pakistan, to Ikramullah Khan Niazi and Shaukat Khanum.
- He belongs to the Niazi Pashtun tribe on his father's side and the Burki Pashtun tribe on his mother's side.
- Imran Khan was captain of Pakistan's national cricket team and led the team to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup.
- After retiring from cricket, he became a philanthropist and founded the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore in 1994.
- In 1996, he founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party.
