00:00 Welcome back. We return live to Mexico with a special
00:03 on by Paolo Montero for the latest updates on Sunday's key general elections
00:07 that is being held in Mexico. Paolo what can you tell us?
00:12 Hi Luis, good morning. So far so good. There were no incidents. The polls have been
00:21 open almost for three hours. Already the three candidates to the president,
00:28 Joseph Gargeles for the opposition party, Claudia Schewan for the
00:36 official party and Jorge Maines for the third party. They already vote. Also the
00:42 president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador went to vote. They went early, half an hour,
00:48 between half an hour and one hour after the polls opened. It was really a
00:53 historic place today to be in Mexico because we are being witness of history.
01:00 We can say these are the most important election in the history of this country
01:06 not only because there is a big chance that a woman be for the first time
01:11 president of this country. Also there are 99 million of people never there were so
01:17 many people allowed to vote in in Mexico. There are 20,000 public officials. They
01:23 are going to be here. They have to decide between them but also we have to say
01:28 that they were the last few months there were violence. Based on numbers of the
01:34 government we have almost almost 30 people candidates. They lost their life.
01:40 Let's see how the Mexican reacts so far today when they go to the polls, when they
01:45 go to vote. They've been doing that in Europe too. They were in Paris. There
01:51 were a lot of people in the embassy waiting to vote. Also in Madrid. Madrid
01:57 there were some problems with the process that some of them they got
02:01 really upset. They were screaming we want to vote. But of course
02:07 the US is the most important place where we have to be at attention. We have to be
02:14 very careful to see how many people are going to vote. Six o'clock they are going
02:19 to close the polls. We are going to have the exit poll. Then in one hour we are
02:26 going to have a they have to have numbers. Here they call about the numbers
02:31 and then two hours later we are going to see who are the
02:35 preliminary results. More probably tonight we are going to have somebody or
02:41 the three candidates celebrating in the Zócalo. Zócalo is a very emblematic
02:46 square here in Ciudad de México where the candidates go when they win an
02:53 election over there. We are going to be very paying attention to everything is
02:57 going here and we are going to go back to you with any information. But so far
03:02 so good. No problems. The election is going smooth. Going back to the studios.
03:07 Thank you Carlos for the latest updates and of course we're going to continue
03:11 tuned with the general elections that are being held in Mexico.
