00:00 50 Ayta residents were helped under the DSWD's Abort Program.
00:07 Some of them were former refugees and were taken to Manila.
00:12 Dominic Almiloro will tell you in detail.
00:14 Last December, 50 Ayta refugees were taken and taken to Metro Manila
00:25 for the Abort Program during Christmas.
00:27 The Special Reach Out Operation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development
00:32 rescued them and took them home to their homes in Barangay Baruglo in Capa, Starlock.
00:37 Six months later, they were again returned by the DSWD.
00:42 The faces of each Ayta resident show their determination while they were gathered
00:48 for a day of giving aid.
00:51 We are now in this moment of giving strength to the capital of our Abort Program beneficiaries.
01:02 The DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian himself initiated the distribution of aid to the beneficiaries.
01:09 Aside from the livelihood assistance grants, each of the 50 Ayta residents received.
01:17 Our President Bongbong Marcos ordered us to ensure that the DSWD's services
01:24 should not be left behind.
01:27 We heard your request for Calabao, so our department arranged for you to buy 50 Calabao.
01:38 The Ayta residents are very happy with the Calabao they received, which they will use for their livelihood.
01:44 Thank you for giving us this.
01:49 Thank you to God, for the heart.
01:54 Thank you for helping us.
01:58 We are now in the mountains, helping to make bags of grains, papaya, and grapes.
02:12 Thank you to God.
02:19 We are happy with the program of our Secretary Gatchalian under President Marcos,
02:28 to help our residents.
02:31 This is a big help for our residents because they will be given a livelihood assistance.
02:36 The LGU is hoping that the program will be sustainable to help the residents living in isolated areas.
02:46 We at the LGU will do our best to provide the DSWD's assistance.
02:54 According to Secretary Gatchalian, this is just one of many programs that the DSWD will launch
03:01 to ensure the well-being of the beneficiaries.
03:06 We will not stop. We have given Calabao. We are done.
03:09 You will see our staff later to ensure that your needs are met by the National Administration.
03:19 We don't want you to feel that we are far away.
03:22 The President's order is that the National Administration agencies should be in isolated areas of the Philippines.
03:29 You will feel and see that.
03:31 Every resident who came home was filled with joy.
03:35 They are hoping that they can start again to stay in their province
03:41 and not to return to the lands of Manila to be left behind.
03:47 Dominic Almelor for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
