00:05 Welcome to TMZ Sports.
00:06 I'm Mike Babcock.
00:07 My guys, Lucas Widman, Edward Lewis, fellas, Tom Brady and Jay
00:12 Z hung out over the weekend with some of the best and biggest
00:16 name NFL rookies in this year's class.
00:20 That's right, Babcock.
00:21 And you know how the story goes, like, would you take $500K
00:23 from Jay Z--
00:25 $500K or a dinner with Jay Z?
00:27 Well, these rookies didn't have to pick,
00:28 because they got to sit down with TB12, Jay Z,
00:32 and Michael Rubin at a special luncheon
00:34 over the weekend in LA.
00:36 And we're talking about Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels,
00:38 Drake May, Malik Neighbors, those guys.
00:41 And all three of those entrepreneurs
00:44 got to share some of their knowledgeable nuggets
00:47 that they learned over the years.
00:49 And Tom Brady was dropping knowledge.
00:52 When you have 53 guys on a team, you think it's about you.
00:54 It ain't about you.
00:55 It's about us.
00:56 And the biggest problem I see with a lot of the young players
00:59 today, you guys are making it too much about I and me,
01:02 because of social media, because of branding and all that.
01:05 It's fine.
01:06 You're not going to win.
01:07 There was a difference between being a star
01:09 and being a champion.
01:10 Your talent gets you there.
01:12 You know, your work ethic and your discipline
01:14 takes you to where you want to be.
01:16 Every day of practice is important.
01:18 You know why?
01:19 Because when I was on the Patriots
01:20 and we had 20 years winning, every day was a big day.
01:23 I treated a preseason game--
01:25 I treated a regular season like it was the Super Bowl.
01:28 So when I got to the Super Bowl, it was just another day for me.
01:31 You got to know who you are, because those moments
01:33 are going to come.
01:34 You're going to be down 28 to 0.
01:36 You've got to say, all right, I know who I am.
01:39 I'm going to go get it.
01:40 I'm unrelenting.
01:41 Like, I will not quit in anything I do.
01:44 And I never got there on educational background.
01:47 I never got there on skill.
01:49 It just worked out to get awesome.
01:50 There should be nobody in your life
01:52 that should have higher expectations for you than you.
01:55 You're going to evolve or you're not.
01:56 You're going to keep evolving or you're not.
01:59 And if you're not, the world still spins.
02:02 If you're forever curious, you'll always keep getting better.
02:05 This was actually not the first time that Tom and Michael Rubin
02:08 have done this.
02:08 Last year, if you'll recall, they sat down
02:10 with a bunch of the rookie quarterbacks--
02:12 Anthony Richardson, Bryce Young, CJ Stroud.
02:14 And they had Travis Scott in attendance, too.
02:16 And they offered basically similar advice.
02:18 Actually, I think Tom Brady was wearing the exact same sweater.
02:22 I'm sure he didn't appreciate that that actually happened
02:24 to coincide.
02:25 But no, you'll recall last year, CJ Stroud
02:27 seemed to take this advice, a very similar advice of make
02:30 sure that you're trying hard every day
02:31 and make sure that, OK, now that you're in the NFL,
02:33 it doesn't matter whether you're a first rounder
02:34 or like Tom was, a sixth rounder.
02:37 You have to get the job done every single day.
02:39 And you remember CJ Stroud's hooking around with it.
02:41 He's one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
02:42 We all kind of expect that these guys will take this message
02:44 as well and maybe do a following similar footsteps.
02:47 Yeah, I mean, and how awesome for those guys.
02:49 I mean, if you were literally going
02:51 to pick a couple of guys who you might want to learn from,
02:54 I mean, Jay-Z and Tom Brady, it doesn't
02:56 get any better than that.
02:57 Look, maybe he's not as popular as those other guys,
03:00 but Michael Rubin has really turned this company, Fanatics,
03:03 into this multi-billion dollar brand
03:05 that works with the biggest sports leagues and franchises
03:08 in the world.
03:08 So talk about three guys you could really learn a lot from
03:11 and a special group to be a part of.
03:13 I'm sure some of the other players
03:14 were jealous that they couldn't have sat down with those guys.
03:17 These are obviously the biggest named players
03:18 in this year's draft.
03:19 And what a cool thing for those guys.
03:21 See how it turns out.
