Health Minister Mark Butler says NDIS needs to be cleaned up

The Disability Advocacy Network Australia says there's been a significant lack of regulatory control of the $42 billion National Disability Insurance Scheme. Federal parliament has heard criminals have manipulated participants to buy drugs, holidays, and new cars, with at least 5% of the scheme's spending thought to be going to people not in genuine need. In some cases, the agency has had to move participants to different locations to escape harassment from criminals.
