00:10as we begin with this statue commemorating the soldiers
00:15who, 80 years ago, managed to cross the sea by Juneau Beach
00:20and soon after that, Grenfell.
00:23Despite suffering over 100 casualties on the beach,
00:27the regiment continued to advance
00:30with unwavering determination,
00:33liberating Revier, then Henri,
00:37then Patteville, then Galoise.
00:41How fitting it is on the 80th anniversary of the landing
00:45and the commencement of the Battle for Normandy
00:48that this statue has been unveiled in honor of the Regina Rifles,
00:53who sacrificed so much for the cause of liberty and freedom.
00:58The statue unveiled today will forever help tell the story
01:03of loyalty, of bravery and of duty.
