00:00 We meet in the presence of God to commemorate and give thanks to those who 80 years ago
00:07 were involved in the planning and execution of Operation Overlord, which led to the landing
00:16 on the beaches of Normandy in June 1944. We commit ourselves to working penitence and
00:25 faith, a reconciliation between nations, that all people living together live in freedom,
00:34 justice and peace. We pray for all who in bereavement, disability and pain continue
00:43 to suffer from the consequences of Operation Overlord. We remember the Thanksgiving and
00:50 sorrow those whose lives were killed for and conflicts past and present have been given
00:58 and taken away.
01:00 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not we them, nor the years
01:16 condemned. But the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
01:24 Amen.
