Two veterans attended the service at Platinum House near Horsham
Transcript
00:00 Hello, my name is Peter Rickard and I'm the Assistant Chief Fire Officer here at West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
00:06 And we're here today at Platinum House, which is Horsham's fire station and our training centre
00:12 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
00:17 And we've had a great day today where we've had the opportunity to celebrate
00:21 as our memorial and service for the D-Day landings.
00:26 And we've had three people here that served in the war, that gave, their family gave speeches
00:33 and spoke about their experiences. We've had readings and we've given praise and a silence
00:40 to remember the 80th anniversary. And we've been joined with some amazing vehicles
00:47 and we've got a spot of lunch later on as well.
00:49 And it's just been a great atmosphere today, celebrating and learning and remembering
00:56 the sacrifices that were made that gives us the freedom and the liberties that we see here.
