00:00Oh yay, oh yay, oh yay. Hark good people, hear ye this, the international tribute.
00:15Let us remember those who gave their lives home and abroad during the D-Day landings,
00:26whose sacrifice enables us all to enjoy the peace and freedom we have today.
00:37Let us remember those who came home wounded physically and mentally,
00:46and the friends and families who cared for them.
00:52Let us remember those who returned to restore their relationships
00:59and rebuild their working lives after years of conflict and turmoil.
01:06Let us remember the families that lost husbands, wives, sons, daughters and sweethearts.
01:22Let us remember the servicemen and women and merchant seafarers of all nationalities,
01:30from all countries, who fought, suffered and died during the D-Day landings and the six years
01:41of war. Let us all remember those in the Royal Navy, the Army, the Royal Air Force, Merchant Navy
01:54and our allies, the brave people who kept us safe on the home front and abroad,
02:03and those in reserved occupations during the difficult time of war.
02:13Let us remember the brave doctors and nurses who cared for the wounded, and the women who
02:20toiled in the fields, the coal mines, the factories and the air raid wardens, the police officers,
02:27the firemen, the ambulance drivers and the young people of the scouts and the guides, who all played
02:36such a vital role in the war. We remember them all.
