00:00We're in Cannes in the French Riviera,
00:02where we just got finished riding
00:03the 2024 Triumph Rocket 3 Storm R and Storm GT.
00:08These two motorcycles are 2458cc,
00:10which is the largest displacement motorcycle in the world.
00:14They are massive, they have tons of power,
00:17but at what cost?
00:18Do these make sense for a normal rider as a motorcycle?
00:22Let's get into what these new bikes are,
00:24what's changed, and if they make sense for a regular rider.
00:28So major updates for the Storm are blacked out finishes,
00:31two-tone paint, and you lose a kilogram of weight
00:33in the wheels, which does result in lighter handling.
00:36It's not a crazy dramatic difference,
00:39but it does make a difference.
00:41Fit and finish on the Rocket line is absolutely incredible.
00:44You get close to these bikes, everything is tight,
00:47it is well done, it looks ultra premium,
00:49as it should with that $25,000 price tag.
00:53The R starts at 24,995 MSRP,
00:56and the GT here adds 750 to that price tag.
00:59For 2024, we see the power output now match
01:02the Triumph Factory Custom that we saw introduced previously
01:06at 179.5 horsepower and 166 foot-pounds of torque.
01:11That power is delivered smooth,
01:13it is easy to get it to the ground.
01:15You have several ride modes.
01:17I didn't find traction control or any of the safety features
01:21to be too cumbersome or overwhelming.
01:23The technology worked well in this package,
01:25it worked smooth.
01:26The only times I noticed traction control kicking in
01:28was when it was necessary, which was really nice.
01:31At 699 and 705 pounds,
01:34these bikes both handle much better than you expect them to.
01:39The Rocket 3, at its core, was this wild,
01:42unwieldy, just power beast,
01:45and Triumph has really refined this motorcycle
01:48into relevance.
01:49It is now a smooth, easy-to-ride bike
01:52that still has an absolute boatload of power,
01:55but you can ride it.
01:57You can actually get what you want to
01:59out of this bike on the road,
02:00and that feeling is incredible.
02:02That's the feeling that we got to experience today,
02:04riding through Cannes and the French countryside.
02:07Ergonomics are changed pretty dramatically
02:09from the Roadster to the Grand Tourer.
02:12There's a five-inch difference in handlebar placement,
02:14and the R has mids, whereas the GT has forwards.
02:19The seat and pillion is also different.
02:21You have an adjustable-height backrest here,
02:23as well as a smoother incline on the back of the rider's seat.
02:27There's no backrest on the Roadster.
02:29It's just a little bit more sleek,
02:31a little bit cleaner finish.
02:32Triumph claims that they have sold 18,000
02:35of these motorcycles since the last major update in 2019,
02:38so it's obviously struck a chord with the buying audience,
02:42and these improvements add more power, more variety,
02:46and just the blacked-out finishes,
02:48which the American cruiser audience has shown
02:50that they do really enjoy.
02:51So does this bike make sense for you as a rider?
02:54That's up to you.
02:55If you want the most power, absolutely it does.
02:59It is surprisingly easy to ride.
03:01The weight was not cumbersome, so it has a lot to offer.
03:05These bikes are currently available
03:06in the U.S. in Triumph dealerships,
03:08so you can go buy, check one out,
03:09test ride it, and see for yourself.
03:11Like, follow, subscribe.
03:13Thanks for watching.
