Justice Clarence Thomas Received $2.4 Million in Gifts Over Two Decades, Worth 10 Times More Than His Fellow Justices

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepted gifts worth over $2.4 million between 2004 and 2023, according to an analysis by the nonprofit Fix the Court. This amount of gifts received by Justice Thomas is nearly 10 times more than the total value of gifts received by his fellow Supreme Court justices during the same period, which was around $248,000. Justice Samuel Alito received the second-highest amount of gifts among current justices, totaling around $170,000 over the period. The analysis also identified around $1.8 million in "likely gifts" to Justice Thomas through free trips and lodging from billionaire Harlan Crow and at the Bohemian Grove club.
