00:00 Just a month and a half left to go before the Paris Olympics this summer, and preparations
00:05 are still underway.
00:06 Bridges, major landmarks, it seems like every inch of Paris is undergoing a major facelift
00:12 for the event.
00:13 "I walked past a month ago and construction was just starting.
00:18 It's crazy how fast they work."
00:21 Around the Alexander III bridge, workers are focusing on these huge grandstands.
00:25 They need to be completed by the end of the month, for the opening ceremony, but also
00:29 for the triathlon event expected to take place in the Seine.
00:33 Just a few hundred meters away, Place de la Concorde will host the urban sports.
00:37 More than 200 construction workers are deployed here every day to build the Olympic half-pipe
00:42 ramps for the freestyle BMX and skateboarding competitions.
00:47 This huge metal structure will be covered to create a marquee for the 3x3 basketball
00:51 matches.
00:52 "We have two arenas that are almost done for the skatepark and freestyle.
00:57 These grandstands are going to be up to 12 meters high."
01:01 On the Invalides, the biggest archery stadium in the world, will soon see the light of day.
01:06 8,000 spectators are expected for the event.
01:08 "We're at the heart of the stadium, so the grandstands will be on each side of this field."
01:14 As ladders and cranes take over the streets of Paris, so do police forces, diverting traffic
01:20 away from building sites and cornering off large parts of the capital, where 10 to 15
01:24 thousand people are expected this summer.
