We visited Glasgow’s Polish society to find out more about traditional food ahead of Euros 2024

The Polish Society has been in Glasgow for 70 year and hosts a popular bar and restaurant.

00:00you're older obviously polish meals are starting from the soup i think that every sunday we have a

00:08how you call this roll rosu which is basically chicken soup yes but this is very traditional

00:14and uh we starting from soup and then main course um well it's i i will i will use the our card

00:22for example the one of the most delicious food here is like a breaded pork chop i think that's

00:29the that's the flagship of the of the meal it's basically like a schnitzel type of pork meat

00:37within the breadcrumb and they're very thin and delicious basically the everybody knows pierogi

00:46that's like a starters dumplings basically with different fillings inside starting from

00:53uh mushroom meat and even with some raspberries strawberries you can have variety you can have

01:01sweet you can have sour i think everyone knows pierogi and i think that's that's that's the the

01:09greatest starter the light that you can eat here try if you're not hungry but you want to try

01:15something just pop in for pierogi but there are also uh pierogi with haggis which became lately

01:24very popular and they're just delicious oh yeah yeah but the food is very heavy it's it's it's not

01:31like a light italian food like you can eat the pasta and you know here you will be stuffed

01:39proper stuffed you know so that's sometimes good to finish with alcohol to to to to make your

01:49stomach uh how you call this digest digest more easily yeah so so yeah i will be honest with you

01:58uh we play with the holland and netherlands uh we play with austria and with france

02:05in my private opinion france is gonna be the winner of the tournament that's the one of the

02:12the main main team to win and uh we're gonna watch those games here uh first game is next sunday at

02:20two o'clock and that's gonna show us uh where we are what on the where's our place i will be honest

02:29with you as a football fan i'm a little bit sceptic what's gonna happen uh the reason how we

02:35get to this elimination how we get we didn't play great football like scotland and scotland is like

02:43a black horse of these champions i hope that scotland gonna go far but being like realistic
