00:12 Mika de Guzman defended her title again after the 2024 Philippine Badminton Open held at Gameville Ballpark in Mandaluyong City.

00:25 The first place in the women's singles was awarded by a Smash Philippines member.

00:30 After the finals, the bulldogs' winner was Isabel Amora.

00:34 The two teams fought hard, but Mika won the first and third games with a final score of 21-11, 16-21, and 21-8.

00:44 Actually, I've had so many setbacks before this tournament internationally.

00:51 But I think those setbacks really helped me grow because I learned what I was lacking.

00:58 I'm happy that I've actually improved and won the gold medal this Philippine Open.

01:04 In doubles, the champion of the tournament was awarded by Smash Philippines.

01:09 According to the Philippine Badminton Association, hundreds of athletes from different countries competed in the tournament,

01:17 and the medal was far from being awarded.

01:20 We're really happy with the turnout.

01:22 We're super thankful to all of the clubs and schools that participated.

01:26 We had over 400 participants for this year.

01:29 So we're really happy because we saw a lot of talent.

01:34 One of the things that the audience was looking forward to was the match between Clarence Villaflor and JBA

01:39 and the national team member Jello Albo in the men's singles finals.

01:43 In the first game, Jello won the match 21-13 and won the second game with a score of 21-9.

01:51 In the PTV interview, Jello was emotionally aligning his trophy with his proud uncle.
