The Australian Electoral Commission has released a redistribution proposal for NSW. Public feedback is open until July 12.

00:00The division of North Sydney abolished and the most changes to those surrounding divisions.
00:05There are also major changes to the divisions of Hume, Riverina and Eden Monaro.
00:11There'll be approximately 12% of New South Wales voters changing division.
00:15This is the 2024 New South Wales redistribution proposal.
00:24Population growth in New South Wales has been lower than the rest of the country.
00:29Due to this they will be decreasing in a seat from 47 to 46 for the next federal election.
00:36Population growth is centred in the Greater Sydney area
00:39with outer areas having more growth than the inner areas.
00:43The Independent Committee has considered these changes along with public input
00:48and is proposing the abolishment of the division of North Sydney.
00:52The name of North Sydney has been in use since Federation in 1901
00:57but as the committee did not see sufficient reason to rename another division
01:01it is proposed that the name be retired.
01:04Bennelong, Bradfield and Warringah will also see changes as they gain voters from North Sydney.
01:10Major changes are also being proposed for the regional divisions of Hume,
01:15Riverina and Eden Monaro.
01:17The proposal also includes moving voters from the Snowy Valleys and Yass Valley councils
01:23from Eden Monaro into Riverina.
01:26Finally the proposal includes moving voters from the Goulburn Mulwarrie council
01:30from Hume to Eden Monaro.
