00:00Italian anti-fascist activist Ilaria Salis has been freed from Hungarian house arrest
00:07after winning a seat in European Parliament.
00:10The Milanese teacher was arrested in Budapest last year after allegedly assaulting three
00:15right-wing protesters and for participating in an extreme left-wing organisation.
00:21The 39-year-old faced up to 11 years in prison.
00:24But the Greens and Left Alliance candidates secured a seat in the recent European Parliamentary
00:29elections, meaning she now enjoys immunity.
00:32Salis will return to Italy on June 17.
