Aleteia's Caroline Fischer addresses an issue dear to her: helping expectant mothers who suffer from "hyperemesis gravidarum" or severe morning sickness.
Transcript
00:00Women in your local parish moms group, there is a great need for this specific type of
00:08ministry, helping out pregnant mothers who suffer with HG.
00:12HG stands for hyperemesis gravidarum.
00:15HG is severe and prolonged morning sickness.
00:18It often results in malnourishment and dehydration.
00:22It is such a significant cross to carry.
00:25It truly is nothing like regular morning sickness.
00:28If you know anyone who is suffering from HG, a great thing to do is just contact them,
00:33ask them how you can help.
00:35Offer to pick up groceries, offer to cook for their children, offer to watch their children
00:40so they can go get infusions done at the hospital.
00:43There's truly so many ways to help out.
00:45We've done this for mothers in my local parish playgroup and it has been so impactful.
00:50And this is such a beautiful way to take care of the sick.
