00:00Gentlemen, we've already been through the final instructions in the dressing room, you know I expect.
00:05Obey my commands at all times and above all, protect yourselves at all times.
00:08Touch gloves, 12 rounds. Thank you.
00:15Well, that's what you're expecting at home.
00:17Like the bookmakers, you're making Isaac Chamberlain a pretty heavy favourite here.
00:23Jack Massey and Joe Gallagher...
00:25Have other ideas.
00:2812 rounds for the Commonwealth and vacant European Cruiserweight titles.
00:33Massey in the dark blue, Chamberlain in the black.
00:38The two defeats for Chamberlain, as Big Mo mentioned, coming against fighters who went on to become world champions in Laurence Eccoli and Chris Billum-Smith.
00:48Billum-Smith for Massey, a defeat against Parker at heavyweight, and Richard Reactpour in the British title fight.
00:55There are so many links between this fight and the top of the bill.
00:58Massey beat Billum-Smith in an ABA final about 10 years ago as well.
01:06Isaac's off to a good start, getting the jab going, finding his rhythm.
01:11You can see Massey's going to have the task of having to get closer.
01:16But a good start from Isaac.
01:26He's the physically bigger of the two, Massey, in terms of the height and the reach that he brings with him.
01:31But Chamberlain has got a very solid build to him.
01:35Strong legs, strong backside, that kind of muscle density that you often see in fighters.
01:46Stop and step back.
01:59Massey is obviously having a look at this time.
02:03It's round one of a 12-round fight. Isaac's known to start explosively.
02:08And Massey's experiencing that now. He's going to have to get used to that.
02:16Lovely jab, thank you again.
02:22Looking for the jab to the body there, Massey. That would be a good shot for him, I think, if he can land that.
02:27To set Chamberlain off balance, don't let him get into that kind of float.
02:32I think Chamberlain's probably started the quicker of the two, his jabs.
02:35A bit sharper, a bit more accurate.
02:37Jab to the body as well, although a decent shot from Massey there.
02:42There's a good body shot from Massey.
02:45And he's just buzzing up a little bit here, Massey, towards the end of the round.
02:49Doubling up on that jab.
03:01Not much of a feel-out process here. We've got a fight straight away.
03:05But I expected this from the build-up.
03:07Seeing how the build-up went, intensity, slaps, jokes.
03:11I knew today would be serious, so we're straight in.
03:14Massey just setting his feet and ripping that right hand into the body again there.
03:19But Al's absolutely right. This has warmed up very, very nicely through this opening three minutes.
03:26OK, let's go backstage with Talo. Let's call that with Ben Whittaker.
03:32Ben, you always bring us super excitement in the ring.
03:36Especially your ring entrances. What have you got in store for us today?
03:40Something special, of course.
03:42Like I said, the fans are paying the hard-earned money, coming out in the rain as well.
03:46It's only right we put something special on for them, so you don't want to miss it.
03:49Make sure you tune in.
03:50Has Ezra brought the spite out in you?
03:53We've seen a different side to you. It's like he's got under your skin a bit.
03:56You know, I just do it for the camera, man. It gets the people talking.
03:59By the end of the day, the job's got to get done.
04:01And that's what I'm going to show in a couple of hours.
04:03One last message to your fans, Ben.
04:05Thank you for the support. Always find God. Jesus is King.
04:09And at the end of the day, you're going to witness greatness tonight.
04:12Take care.
04:13Thank you very much.
04:22An interesting opening round between these two.
04:25Joe Gallagher in the corner there with Jack Massey.
04:27That's a fairly recent relationship that's formed.
04:30This is their second fight together.
04:32Massey now boxing out of champ's camp.
04:37As you said, Vidal, there was a bit of a feeling out process in the first half of the round.
04:40And then the second half of the round, they both went to work more.
04:43Yeah, you know, it always happens as fighters.
04:45When you receive a shot that you feel a bit of weight behind, you feel the need to reply.
04:50And that's definitely what happened in this one.
04:56He's looking flat right to the body, Massey.
04:58Just dips those knees a bit and really looks to try and send it home.
05:05It's a good triple jab there.
05:11If both guys fight like this, I don't know if we're seeing a tour run.
05:22Shaving with a jab to the body.
05:23Gets close and aims the uppercut but didn't quite land it.
05:29Good, chop the right leg off the tire.
05:31Don't fling it, don't throw it like a handbag.
05:34Chop it.
05:39The battle of the jabs here is quite interesting because Massey's got that height and the reach that comes with it.
05:44But Chamberlain has got one of those quick snappy jabs, hasn't he?
05:48With no real tell to it, all of a sudden he just plants it.
05:51Yeah, he's very elusive with the lead hand.
05:53So when he lets his jab go, you know, it can be spontaneous.
05:56Whereas you see Massey comes in with a more round-the-world firm jab.
06:00Uses his feet and they seem to be meeting each other right now for jabs.
06:06Just let that exchange you do.
06:17Early signs are here, Matt, that these two are very evenly matched.
06:21Yeah, certainly at this stage both sharp.
06:24Not a lot in it at this point.
06:28Kind of the battle of the jabs here at the minute.
06:30You know, Chamberlain going down to the body with the jab quite a lot.
06:33Now he looks to try and chop the right hand over the top.
06:37You can see just a few seconds ago Chamberlain tried to move in behind that double jab.
06:41The right hand was cocked and ready to go but Massey just took those feet out.
06:45Two skillful, well-schooled boxers here.
06:50Nice combination on the inside there from Massey.
06:54Yeah, I thought Massey had the better of that exchange.
06:56Good right hand again from Massey there.
07:01See, Massey's getting the better of the exchanges inside.
07:03He's more compact. I feel like his shots are delivering more efficiently.
07:12He's having a good final minute here, Jack Massey, in this second.
07:15One thing we know about Azak, he's tough and he is going to fight back.
07:46Wild Tina at the apartment.
07:48Oh, Tina!
08:18Fight.
08:20Partly due to Chris's choice of entrance tune but also because he is a genuine boxing fan.
08:29Sully from Top Boy matters. I think we'll always know him, won't we?
08:32I was just going to say, I know him as Sully.
08:37He does play that role well.
08:41So into round three.
08:43The vacant European and the Commonwealth title that belongs to Chamberlain on the line here.
08:53Tight opening round, not much in it at all.
08:56Second round, you would say, due to a good finish from Massey, was probably his.
09:04Good left hook there from Massey, just feinted the jab and turned into a lead left hook.
09:13Massey's found his rhythm a lot quicker than Azak has.
09:18Really good start to this round for Massey. His accuracy is good here.
09:25It doesn't look like he's putting everything into every punch.
09:27He looks like he's enjoying just flowing the combinations right now.
09:30And normally that happens a lot later in a fight.
09:43Bang the jab.
09:46Stepping into the jab there, Massey was just slightly short with it.
09:49These two revolving around each other, centering. Good jab there from Chamberlain.
10:05Just a bit of blood coming out the end of the nose there of Isaac Chamberlain.
10:09Nothing too major, I don't think.
10:20Just trying to hook off the jab there, Massey. Didn't quite accomplish it.
10:24Didn't quite accomplish it.
10:34Just snatched that jab, was short with it again, but pulled back and stayed out of the way of the right hand there, Massey.
10:45Massey started the round very strong and I feel like he's still controlling the round.
10:52Good exchange, good exchange.
10:54Both of them landing left hands I think there.
11:00Left to the body, then up to the head there from Chamberlain as Massey was made to miss with the right hand.
11:04And Chamberlain just setting his feet, looking to try and finish the round strong here.
11:08We have a very good fight so far. Just as you come and say one thing, it changes abruptly.
11:15Yeah, I was going to say, good round for Massey.
11:17Isaac has a good little flurry there towards the end of the round.
11:21Yeah, this is a very good fight. 50-50 for sure.
11:52Boxing in your hometown brings an expectation that can become a little bit stressful at times.
12:03And Ryakpour, he is the one with that pressure loaded on his shoulders.
12:08And it's interesting for me Vidal because I've spoken to Tony Bellew about this, about boxing at Goodison, Josh Warrington about boxing at Elland Road, Chris about boxing at Bournemouth.
12:17The pressure is big because you have to win. This has to be your night. If it doesn't go your way, it could be the worst night of your life.
12:24This is where you're from. This is where you have to walk the streets. This is where you get your respect.
12:28So you want to deliver in your hometown. So a lot of pressure for sure, but I feel like Richard's ready for it.
12:41Into the fourth here.
12:48I feel like Massey's happy to give Isaac the centre of the ring.
12:52I'm not sure if that's something he worked on in the gym, but he's significantly chosen that retreating option.
12:58So let's see what he's looking to set up from here.
13:02And then just steps in, sets his feet and raffles off a combination to the body.
13:08He's mixed it up well Massey, hasn't he Matt, because he can keep it on the outside.
13:12He snaps that jab, but when he makes a move onto the inside, he commits.
13:16Yeah, he does and his jab's working well for him.
13:18Doubling up on the jab, even tripping up on that jab at times.
13:21Straight right hands are good too. Good jab there by Chamberlain.
13:28And that was off the back of some decent body work from Chamberlain too.
13:36Very interesting fight. Isaac's definitely come out round four with better intentions, working the body and pushing the pace.
13:47Just trying to find the room there Massey.
13:51Didn't quite land the right hand, taking advantage of the fact that the referee was letting them work that out on the inside for themselves.
13:58Just grappling, there's been more of that in this fourth round than we've seen previously.
14:02That can take it out of you, both of them again just exchanging on the inside.
14:08Good left to the body there from Chamberlain.
14:10Good body work from Isaac. And a good trip to the head just there.
14:16And he's got a bit of a headlock there.
14:18He's got a bit of a headlock there.
14:20And he's got a bit of a headlock there.
14:22Good left to the body there from Chamberlain.
14:23Good left to the body there from Chamberlain.
14:24Good body work from Isaac. And a good trip to the head just there.
14:27Yeah, good right hand from Chamberlain, then lands two good left hooks, body and head.
14:31Good little passage here from Chamberlain.
14:35And as Massey's finished the previous round strong, Chamberlain looking like he's going to finish the fourth strong.
14:41Good head movement from Jack Massey in the corner, you know, very underestimated.
14:52When you see fighters do that, it's high level of skill to evade punches like that.
14:57And landed a decent right hand when he stepped out of the corner too,
15:00because Chamberlain was looking to try and line up that right for a couple of seconds there.
15:06Short right hand from Massey.
15:08And again, this continues to be really, really good stuff from both of them.
15:18Nice work from Massey.
15:19Left hook to the body and then finishing that combination with a jab upstairs.
15:22And again, back on the jab.
15:25Good from Massey.
15:27Okay, let's get over to Andy Scott.
15:29He has run into Laurence Acoli.
15:32Yeah, well the champ is here, I have to say.
15:34And there's some Laurence Acoli chants coming up.
15:37Congratulations on your world title win.
15:39Jack Massey helped you prepare for that.
15:41How do you think this fight's going so far?
15:43It's going alright.
15:44I just need Jack to stay consistent and maybe get a second win.
15:49When he throws twos and threes, he's doing well.
15:51But it's a good hard fight.
15:53And you know one thing about Chamberlain, Chamberlain's always going to bring it.
15:56What about this main event as well?
15:58A lot of people sitting on the fence.
15:59Did you sway one way or the other with CBS and Richard?
16:01Yeah, I'm also sitting on the fence a bit.
16:03I feel like Chris should bring on experience and consistency in the ring.
16:07Because if he pushes the pace, I know that they'll be able to outwork Richard easily.
16:13But Richard always has that good punching power and good sort of distance control.
16:18So it'll be interesting to see if he's able to land a hard enough shot to power up or stop Chris.
16:24And if not, then Chris will win comfortably, in my opinion.
16:26Great to have you here, Laurence.
16:27Thank you.
16:29Laurence Akoli, the WBC Bridgeweight Champion after that win against Lukasz Roszanski,
16:34a stable mate of Jack Massey's.
16:36Those two have been sparring in the build-up to this, into the fifth.
16:48He shared the ring with Chamberlain, of course.
16:51Akoli, he's not the biggest fan of Richard Ratpour, I think.
16:55That's a point worth making when you listen to his analysis of how the fight may or may not go.
17:07I think what Laurence said was a good point about Massey finding a second wind.
17:17Chamberlain worked hard towards the end of that previous round.
17:21And doing the same at the start of the fifth.
17:23That's true of both of them.
17:24It has been from the start.
17:25They had that 90 seconds in the first round where they did have a little bit of a look.
17:29But since then, this has been heavy work.
17:35I think Massey landed some effective short punches.
17:38You know, at mid-distance, he just fired them up.
17:40Not big shots, but they're accurate.
17:46I feel like the punches, you know, as it's framed right now,
17:49they are dangerous punches.
17:50They're heavy punches.
17:51But can he continue to throw those punches?
17:53Massey is being more efficient, but he is taking more damage at this time.
17:57That's what makes the fight interesting.
18:00That's a good point because when you look at them,
18:02when Chamberlain throws those shots, he sets those feet.
18:05They're effort punches, aren't they?
18:06You must see the arms just work that little bit looser.
18:10Maybe not as much on them, but he just keeps those hands moving.
18:13Yeah, they're more energy efficient.
18:16And it is 12 rounds.
18:21But when he does set his feet like he did there
18:23and look for the right hand, there's plenty on them.
18:30Into the last minute of round five.
18:32And again, there's not been a great deal between them in this one.
18:37Three scoring judges ringside here.
18:40It's not an easy job.
18:44It's definitely not an easy job for this fight.
18:46The judges, they have a hard time so far.
18:52Kick with the jab! Kick with the jab!
18:56Lovely, off the jab now!
19:00Lovely jab!
19:02They're just swapping jabs.
19:03Chamberlain's, I think, the more effective of the two.
19:15Right hand into the body again there from Massey.
19:17He just sweeps in, dips those knees and takes that shot.
19:21It's worked very well.
19:23Lovely jab!
19:35Everyone, this is Grandma's companion, Gerard.
19:41Companion.
19:42He calls him that because he doesn't want to imagine us getting it on.
19:48Hello.
19:51Hello.
19:56War is coming.
19:58And neither of us may win.
20:14That's Joe Ganga in the corner there with Jack Massey.
20:17We've been talking about the jabs, Matt.
20:19Yeah, that was a lovely jab there from Massey.
20:21Really snapping the head back.
20:22I mean, they both landed clean jabs there.
20:24But you'd have to say that Massey's was the better one of that exchange anyway.
20:31Lovely jab!
20:34Lovely jab!
20:39Good combination there from Massey.
20:42Joe Gallagher happy with the way things were going in the corner there.
20:46Between rounds.
20:47And you can understand why.
20:50Both of these two have landed some good shots.
20:52Done some good, good work.
20:56We were discussing during the break, Vidal,
20:57that this is not the easiest fight in the world to score.
21:00The way I'm seeing it,
21:02I just feel like Massey has had the final word more often in exchanges.
21:06Good long right hand there from Massey.
21:09Yeah, I feel like Massey, the last two rounds,
21:11he's definitely picked up momentum.
21:13Round four was big for Chamberlain.
21:15The first three, again, it's hard to even remember at this point
21:18with all the action that's happened since.
21:23He's been close the whole time.
21:35It was interesting because Chamberlain, again, was trying to jab his way in.
21:39He didn't land, but he did back Massey up.
21:41Massey's found himself near the ropes, tanked up.
21:44And Chamberlain could have gone again there.
21:47He didn't take the opportunity.
21:48Again, just trading left hooks.
21:51Yeah, I think Massey landed the better of that, though.
21:53He had a good left hook on the exchange there.
21:55And even before that, he landed a couple of nice, short-lived uppercuts on the inside.
22:03As it was having a lot of success when he could land the left hook to the body,
22:07since he hasn't landed left hook to the body again,
22:09he's going for it just there.
22:12That's where the momentum changes,
22:13when he manages to get that body shot in.
22:15It's interesting to see.
22:20Good jab. Stiff jab there from Massey.
22:22He steps in and lets his hands go.
22:24A little bit of a swagger about him, Jack Massey, at the moment.
22:45Good jab, Jack.
22:48Good boy!
22:49Massey just walking Chamberlain back to the ropes a little bit there.
22:52Leaning on.
23:00The referee just having a quick word with a pair of them.
23:02I think about a little bit of holding, maybe.
23:07That kind of exchange we saw there, Vidal,
23:09at this stage of the fight,
23:10where Massey just got on top of Chamberlain a little bit
23:13and walked him back to the ropes.
23:14That can be telling sometimes.
23:16It can, but also I feel like he's...
23:18Very good shot there from Massey.
23:20I feel like he's done enough to win the round,
23:22and sometimes you just take those few seconds
23:24that you might need in the next few rounds.
23:27Very, very exciting fight.
23:29Very exciting fight.
23:32So, the midway stage.
23:34And that's a view from the back of the floor at Crystal Palace.
23:39We've had some stadium fights in the last few years.
23:43You lose count.
23:46It's just such a joy to get out in the open air.
23:48There's nothing quite like it.
23:51And the South London public have responded well.
23:58Good shots going in there from Massey.
23:59I think his accuracy is the difference between the two at the minute.
24:04He's landing the better shots.
24:05Lovely counter there again.
24:06I feel like we have a...
24:07We can expect a second win from him
24:09in these next couple of rounds.
24:25So, into the second half of the fight.
24:27They're scheduled for 12, of course.
24:28The championship distance.
24:29The European and Commonwealth titles on the line.
24:32And Massey comes in.
24:33The European and Commonwealth titles on the line.
24:35And Massey comes out quick again.
24:38Just setting those feet.
24:39Letting those hands go.
24:42Some good jabs coming in from Massey as well.
24:44Just well-delivered, clean jabs.
24:50In terms of going the distance,
24:51Massey did it against Ratpour for that British title.
24:54He did it against Joseph Parker.
24:56Up at heavyweight, Chamberlain did it
24:58at a hot pace against Bill and Smith.
25:04And when the 12 against Mikel Lawal
25:07in what was a slightly different affair.
25:10So, they both got experience.
25:24Massey's doing a good job of just timing
25:26as he's coming in.
25:27You know, as it's trying to come in with intensity.
25:30And he's just standing just a little bit back.
25:32Just sitting back enough to get his shots off.
25:34And that's the difference right now.
25:36I think Chamberlain's looking for power.
25:38Massey's just looking for accuracy.
25:39And it's paying off for him.
25:42Left hand into the body.
25:43It's a good shot there from Chamberlain.
25:45But Massey has been compact.
25:48And as you say, efficient.
25:49That is the word for it.
25:50Most of what he's throwing is hand something.
25:55Again, they exchange that hook.
25:57Chamberlain trying to muscle that right hand
25:59in over the top that catches one on the way in.
26:03Good kind of hooks from Massey.
26:06Good kind of round from Massey.
26:08And then a short right hand from Massey.
26:10Doesn't travel far, but it was nice and accurate.
26:12Chamberlain's putting a shift in here, Matt, isn't he?
26:14He needs to try and get this round in the bag, I think.
26:17Yeah, he's trying to break the...
26:19You know, Massey probably won the last couple of rounds.
26:21I think Chamberlain knows he needs a big round
26:23to try and break the pattern of where the fight's going.
26:26And he's really trying to...
26:27He's putting a lot into this.
26:28Digging deep in this round.
26:29Chamberlain lands some good shots.
26:31But Massey's landed some good shots as well.
26:34Agreed, I think, in the first two minutes of it.
26:37First 100 seconds of it anyway.
26:38Massey was having the better of it.
26:40Chamberlain, as I say, with the real effort
26:42towards the closing stages.
26:54Just a bit more zip on Massey's punches.
26:56So whenever they exchange,
26:58it just catches your eye a little bit more.
27:00But then as it will land the occasional power punch,
27:03that just restores the balance.
27:14Chamberlain on the inside,
27:15just catches a left hand there
27:17as he was trying to open up.
27:19Good right hand there, though, from Chamberlain.
27:22He's put a lot into this round.
27:23As Matt was saying, the bell goes.
27:26He heads back to his corner.
27:27Let's see if we can get into that Chamberlain corner
27:30and have a listen.
27:33Relax, relax, relax.
27:36Now listen to Bobby, relax.
27:38Just take a deep breath for me, okay?
27:39One deep breath.
27:41Hold at the top, hold at the top.
27:43Back down.
27:45Rinse and spit.
27:50Keep still, keep still.
27:51Now listen to Bobby, listen.
27:52Listen to me.
27:53See what I mean?
27:55Listen to me.
27:56You've got to earn it.
27:57Earn it with a jab.
27:59Slip, then rip to the body.
28:00It makes such a difference.
28:02When you work his body, he doesn't like it.
28:04Positive aggression.
28:05Don't just walk in.
28:07You have to earn it.
28:08Take the space behind the jabs,
28:10up and down,
28:11then the body, then the head.
28:12Don't just walk in and give him a shot.
28:14You've got to find that now,
28:15or do what you're praying then.
28:16Let him go a bit quicker.
28:17We'll do it inside now.
28:18Go on.
28:20Go on.
28:23Well, that's the advice in the corner there
28:25from Bobby Mills,
28:27turning his fighter.
28:28He has to earn it.
28:29It's one thing being aggressive,
28:30and looking to try and get on that front foot
28:32and take it to your opponent,
28:33but you've got to be clever about it.
28:34Of course, of course.
28:35You have to be aware of the dangers.
28:37You know, you're trying to be more aggressive.
28:39You leave yourself more open.
28:40You know, there's a way to do it.
28:42But right now, I feel like we're at that stage
28:44of the fight where
28:45it's all going to break out.
28:50Watch this, guys.
28:51We've got to put on caps.
28:52Yes!
28:53Time the right hand there, Chamberlain.
28:55Over the top of Masi's left,
28:57but Masi comes back with a right.
28:59And it's good work again from him.
29:01Throws a combination,
29:02then just pulls the feet back.
29:05It's good variety of punches from Jack Masi
29:07you've seen in this fight.
29:08You know, you've seen uppercuts,
29:10you've seen body drops.
29:11He really puts variety into his combinations.
29:15There you go, Jack Masi.
29:18Well, both men landed some hard shots in that round.
29:22I think Masi probably landed more of them,
29:24but maybe Isaac landed the harder ones.
29:32Control!
29:33Isaac, you're in control now.
29:38Both guys are appreciating this agreement.
29:42I'm sure they are.
29:43I'm sure they are.
29:44It's the second time he's had a quick word with him, Kevin Parker.
29:46I can't hear what he's saying.
29:47It's maybe about things getting slightly untidy on the inside,
29:50but to be honest with you,
29:51I think this has been a pretty clean fight.
29:53They're up close and personal there.
29:55They have been a lot of the time.
29:56Masi, as I say that,
29:57is trapping the left arm of Chamberlain there
30:00on the blind side of the referee,
30:01which is an old trick.
30:07Look for a big right hand there, Masi,
30:08off the back of the left.
30:09And again, he's looking to put some heat on these shots now.
30:15There you go, good.
30:18Oh, good left hook from Chamberlain.
30:19Good shots from Chamberlain.
30:21Down to the body,
30:22then really exploded into that one up to the head.
30:25Masi took it pretty well.
30:28Two solid shots from Isaac.
30:32But this is an absolutely crucial stage of the fight here.
30:36There's plenty of time left,
30:38and they're locked in that kind of arm wrestle here
30:41where somebody's trying to get the other one to give,
30:44regardless of who's really ahead of the cards here.
30:47There's still an awful lot to play for.
30:49They're trying to find any sign of weakness,
30:51and if they can see it, if they can feel it,
30:54then exploit it as much as they can.
30:59Oh, no, arms off. Isaac, let him go.
31:01Come on, chin down.
31:03On the reset.
31:06Good body shot from Isaac.
31:09Isaac comes back,
31:10and right back with a body shot and a head shot of his own.
31:13Yeah, that really worked well for Chamberlain,
31:15that double left hook, body and head.
31:17And there's a long right hand there from Chamberlain too,
31:20and from Chamberlain on the ropes and the bar tights,
31:22and blood coming from the mouth of Masi.
31:24This is a big round for Isaac Chamberlain.
31:26He's finishing strong.
31:28Yeah, I think Masi's rocking a little bit here.
31:31Mouth wide open, breathing heavily as well.
31:33Got a call with the right hook there.
31:36Isaac's putting heat on right now.
31:38And he said the second wind is going to come from Isaac.
31:41He's been in these battles before,
31:43and this is where he's enjoying it.
31:45That's a big round for Chamberlain, a big, big round.
31:47We were talking about how important this stage of the fight is,
31:50and momentum shifts can be key,
31:52and we have seen one maybe there.
31:54That was a massive finish to the round for Chamberlain,
31:56that double left hook, body and head, the right hands.
31:58I think you heard Masi on the ropes.
32:00A little bit more here.
32:02You can't be allowing that.
32:04You're going to get a bit of momentum when it's going big shots.
32:07You're staying on the ropes, and you're dropping down.
32:09You're dropping down, and he's chopping the right hand on you.
32:11You've got to go there. You've got to have your shoulder here.
32:13Step to him just as the point is about to do.
32:16Step to him, and let it come over your shoulder.
32:18Do you hear me?
32:20You can't let him. You're walking around there,
32:22being teeing up on you.
32:24You've got to see a little bit of fire in your belly.
32:27No, no.
32:30Have a bit of fire. Where's the power?
32:32Come on.
32:34Fucking bite down.
32:36You've got to be a European champion.
32:38This is what it's about.
32:40Come on. Listen. Get together.
32:42Well, Joe Gallagher with the advice again.
32:44Apologies for language, but we're at that point of the fight
32:47where this is what you need from your trainer.
32:49Through eight, he may well be ahead here, Masi.
32:51He could be leading 5-3,
32:53because he's done some good work up until this point.
32:56But Joe Gallagher knows we're at that stage now
32:59where this is about whose will is going to break,
33:02who wants it more.
33:04Well, Isaac upped the ante there.
33:06He turned up the heat, and he piled under pressure
33:08and hit a big round.
33:10Joe Gallagher doesn't want Masi feeling sorry for himself.
33:12He looked a little bit like he was walking back there,
33:14and he just tried to relight that fire under him there.
33:17You could see it was more about motivation
33:19than technique or tactics.
33:21Gallagher's firing him up.
33:23Well, that's how you're seeing it at home.
33:254-4 through eight rounds.
33:28That's a decent-looking card, I think.
33:30Masi, for me, may be just with his nose in front,
33:33but it's close. It's been close all the way through.
33:36And it will come down to these last four rounds.
33:47Strong-looking jab there from Chamberlain
33:49just put Masi onto his heels,
33:51and it just doesn't quite look to be the same energy
33:54about the punches from Masi been out.
33:56No, but you know, Masi is winning this fight from long range.
34:00You know, as the fight has gone on,
34:02it was a battle of the jabs in the beginning,
34:04but Masi's had most of his success mid to long.
34:06When Isaac manages to close the gap,
34:08that's when we see the tag team.
34:10So it's interesting.
34:12Yeah, that double left hook body and head
34:14working well for Chamberlain,
34:16so Masi just wants to keep it straight jab,
34:18and keep it at distance.
34:23So interesting to get into the corners between rounds.
34:26Kevin Parker telling Chamberlain to keep the punches up
34:28because you hear what the trainer's saying.
34:31Sometimes it is tactical.
34:33Other times it is motivational.
34:35You've got to try and squeeze every drop out of your fighter,
34:38particularly when it gets rough.
34:42This is the fun of championship fighting.
34:44This is the fun, that you're going to give it your all,
34:47and then someone's going to get up,
34:49and they're going to give their all,
34:51and you have to counter it again.
34:57Masi just backed up to the ropes there.
34:59Chamberlain with a long right hand,
35:01Masi sinking into the ropes, managed to ride it,
35:03but Chamberlain just walking Masi down a bit now,
35:06more effectively than he was before,
35:08because what's coming back at him
35:10just isn't quite as damaging.
35:18Chamberlain again, just looking for that right hand.
35:23Trying to manhandle Masi a touch back on the ropes there.
35:30Good job there from Masi.
35:32But as you can see, he's comfortable in the fire.
35:35He's been in the fire many times,
35:37so when the fight gets to these stages,
35:39he's used to this.
35:40He fights through this.
35:41There are only a few rounds left.
35:43So when the fight gets to these stages,
35:45he's used to this.
35:46He fights through this.
35:47The question is if Masi can battle through this.
35:59Closing stages of the round.
36:02Chamberlain just keeping that wind in his sails.
36:06To the end in that 8th round,
36:07Masi just finishing things off
36:09with a nifty looking left hand there though.
36:14Again, there wasn't a huge amount in that round,
36:16but for me, it was more a case of the body language,
36:20almost the dynamic of it.
36:21Checked he looked more like the boss, I would say.
36:25Because you're waiting in front of him
36:28and you're letting him go first.
36:30Spit, bucket.
36:31Turn it into what it is now, Isaac.
36:33A fight where you're moving your head,
36:35you're throwing hard chucks, body and head.
36:37No fancy boxing.
36:39The energy in there.
36:40Isaac, listen.
36:41No fancy boxing.
36:42The energy in there.
36:43Move your head, body and head.
36:45He's dead tired.
36:46He has a strong minute.
36:47Then you've got to jump on him with confidence.
36:49When this snap goes out of his shots,
36:51sense it.
36:52Go first.
36:53Go back to the jab and break him down.
36:55Stop standing in front of him
36:56and not doing nothing.
36:57Let your hands go.
36:58Well, you hear the advice in the corner there,
36:59and I love that.
37:00Three rounds to go.
37:01No fancy boxing.
37:02We're in the trenches.
37:03We need to dig this out by any means necessary.
37:07That's it.
37:08It's coming down to who wants it the most now.
37:10Who's the fittest and who wants it more?
37:14That's the stage we're at now.
37:18Chamer's left eye just closing a little bit.
37:22That'll be due to that jab of Massey's.
37:25Good right hand there from Massey,
37:27who steps forward and looks to let his hands go.
37:29Nice right uppercut.
37:30Nice job.
37:31Come on.
37:32Come on.
37:34That's the jab.
37:35Bring it on.
37:36There you go.
37:37Good.
37:38He's absolutely happy.
37:39Yeah, and who can hold their composure
37:40when they're getting tired as well?
37:41Keep their shape.
37:42Don't get ragged.
37:43Yes.
37:44Go.
37:45I feel like Massey's keeping his shape,
37:46but his output drops significantly,
37:50whereas Azek, he's coming with the intensity.
37:52As you said, he's looking more of the boss at the moment,
37:55but some clean shots this round so far from Massey.
37:58He's looking a bit more compact again, Massey.
38:01Slightly more solid, robust than he did in that previous round
38:04where I wouldn't say he was pushing the punches out,
38:06but they were punches thrown to try and keep his opponent off
38:10rather than do damage, certainly in the first half of the round,
38:12but not anymore.
38:14Yes.
38:16Hold it again, ref.
38:18I've got it.
38:19I've got it.
38:20Come on.
38:21Fire.
38:22He's out.
38:23He's out.
38:24He's out.
38:25He's out.
38:26He's out.
38:27He's out.
38:28He's out.
38:29Yes.
38:30Left hand catches him as he comes forward.
38:32Yes, that was a nice right hand.
38:34They come back with a straight left.
38:35Good shots landed cleanly on Chamberlain, who took them well.
38:41I feel like both...
38:42Good shot there.
38:43Good shot from Massey.
38:44But I feel like both fighters are as fatigued as each other,
38:47but one looks more fatigued,
38:49and that would be Azek based on the shape.
38:51Massey's holding himself together better,
38:53looking for the pockets,
38:54but I think they're both as tired.
38:56Good hook there from Azek.
39:01Massey just getting hold of Chamberlain,
39:03walking him back across the ring.
39:05I think he's responded well in this round, Massey,
39:08because the momentum was with Chamberlain,
39:11and he's managed to arrest that.
39:14Again, it's one of those rounds where there's not an awful lot in it.
39:17This is set up perfectly for the two rounds we've got remaining after this,
39:21deep into the final minutes of round 10.
39:24Yeah, and I think at this point in, you're feeling the pace,
39:27you're feeling tired.
39:28Just look for accuracy, just speed and accuracy.
39:31Don't look for power in the shots.
39:35And he's doing that here, Massey.
39:37Nice couple of jabs.
39:39Because when fighters get more and more exhausted
39:41and those resistance levels get lower and lower,
39:44often it doesn't take all that much
39:47to really register and really make that breakthrough.
39:50Exactly.
39:52Loading up is going to take more out of you.
39:54Also, you're going to telegraph it more.
39:56Speed and accuracy. Just hit the target.
39:58Be busy, but don't put a lot into them.
40:07Bell goes at the end of the 10th,
40:09and this fight has absolutely lived up to what we thought it would be.
40:12It's been a really good watch,
40:14and it is right in the balance here as we go into the final six minutes.
40:18He is absolutely polished.
40:20I know you're tired, I know you're...
40:22But he is, all right?
40:24You don't have to give him an opportunity punch shot.
40:26He's got one eye.
40:28You can't have a fellow with one eye beating you over these next two rounds.
40:31Lead with that right hand.
40:33Make sure you throw the right hand short.
40:35Don't throw it long.
40:37You can come on the outside with the left hook to the body.
40:39Throw the touching right hand and then the left hook after that.
40:42Or the left uppercut.
40:44Control your breathing.
40:46Six minutes of two-five bag or two-versus-five,
40:48whatever it needs to be.
40:50Listen.
40:52It's even.
40:56It's even.
40:58Sharp head move and let your hands go.
41:02This is just so interesting.
41:04Six minutes left here.
41:06Both corners know this is absolutely in the balance.
41:08Joe Gallagher saying to Masi,
41:10listen, you're tired, I know you're tired,
41:12but so is he.
41:14You've got to put it together for these final six minutes.
41:16Bobby Mills saying exactly the same in Chamberlain's corner.
41:20To know what it is like to be on the outside.
41:23To feel like you're frozen out in the wilderness
41:26and nobody wants to know.
41:28This is a stage that you've always craved
41:30and this is where you have to go out there and get it.
41:34It's crucial now just to keep your shape.
41:36Don't get ragged.
41:39This is where the training camp comes in.
41:43This is where all the sacrifices, the hard work,
41:46all of those things, this is where you use it.
41:48These last two rounds.
41:57Masi looking for that right hand.
42:02Beautiful boxing there from Masi.
42:04Four jabs, a right hand and then another jab.
42:08Just those short right hands.
42:09The accuracy better again from Masi.
42:11Chamberlain looking for the power shots.
42:14Beautiful combination punching from Bobby Mills.
42:19I feel that as he's so eager for the attack
42:21he's not taking his defence into account
42:24as he's trying to up the pace and walking down.
42:28A swing and a miss off the ropes there from Masi.
42:30Midway stage of round 11.
42:43There you go, lovely, good, lovely, good.
43:03Welcome to everybody joining us on Showcase.
43:05A main event and you could not have come at a better time.
43:08A minute remaining in round 11
43:10of this fight for the Cruiserweight, European and Commonwealth titles
43:14between Isaac Chamberlain in the black,
43:16Jack Masi in the deep blue.
43:18It is on an absolute knife edge
43:21as we head towards the later stages of round 11.
43:24Masi trying to tee up that long right hand.
43:32A good finish from either one of these two in this round
43:34could be enough, couldn't it?
43:35Honestly, I feel that Masi's found this rhythm
43:39in the fatigue.
43:40Sometimes in a fight you can find rhythm in the fatigue
43:42and I feel like that's what Masi's done here.
43:44He's picking good punches, he's using the whole ring
43:47but I think we're in for a treat for the last round.
43:55Nice combination there from Masi.
43:57Chamberlain trying to get onto the inside and let something go.
44:02It's been a really good round for Masi.
44:04Okay, let's go ringside to Anna and Johnny.
44:08Good to see you on our main event and showcase viewers.
44:10Johnny, what a night it's been so far.
44:12Still so much more to come as well.
44:14We've got Ben Whittaker, the surgeon returns.
44:16Expecting a really special ring war for him
44:18and of course that main event as well.
44:20Chris Pillan-Smith, Richard Riyadpour with the all-royal belt,
44:22WBO belt on the line.
44:23It's been a really exciting night up to this point.
44:25Richard Riyadpour, Chris Pillan-Smith.
44:28That is going to be a fight.
44:30If anything to go by, right now we're seeing the last round
44:32of a European title fight between Jack Masi and Isaac Chamberlain.
44:36That is unbelievable.
44:37This one that you're looking at now is going to be a banger.
44:41It's starting to fill out now.
44:42These guys need it.
44:43They need it so bad for my old title.
44:46I know what it meant.
44:47I know what it means.
44:48And isn't one of those that everyone is swinging either way, aren't they?
44:51You can't pick a winner in this one.
44:52Even the pros, we don't know.
44:54We're split down the middle.
44:56I want Richard to win, but I expect Chris's guy,
44:58everything's going for him.
45:0112th and final round.
45:03These two called to the center.
45:05A touch of the gloves.
45:06Three minutes remaining.
45:08Masi quickly into the jab.
45:10Who is going to take this vacant European title?
45:13Right hand there from Chamberlain.
45:15Can he keep hold of that Commonwealth belt
45:18that is currently in his possession?
45:21It's been an absolutely fantastic fight.
45:25It's been a very close fight.
45:27I think the viewers' verdict scorecard is the same as mine,
45:30having Masi up by two.
45:32But, you know, with fights like this,
45:34you never know how the first few rounds are scored.
45:36But both fighters want to finish strong.
45:42And he's responded well, Masi,
45:44because he had that big, big round in the Chamberlain,
45:47in the middle of the fight.
45:49And he's responded well,
45:50because he had that big, big round in the Chamberlain,
45:53in the seventh.
45:57And then he had the wind at his back in the eighth as well.
46:00And Joe Gallagher had to give his man that rallying cry, Matt,
46:03didn't he? And he's responded to it.
46:05He did very much so.
46:06And, like you say, Masi's really came out strong since then.
46:13But we have three scoring judges ringside.
46:17And their verdicts are the ones that count.
46:20Victor Lochness sat just in front of us.
46:22Mark Bates and Mark Lyson, the other two,
46:25as these two just try and brace themselves
46:28to summon up one last massive effort.
46:33Nice uppercut there from Masi,
46:34whose technique has held together well in the later stages.
46:38And we talk about heart and desire and will to win,
46:41but being able to hold that technique in place
46:43is absolutely key, isn't it?
46:45That's the beauty of the game, you know,
46:47having the discipline, the control
46:49to be able to operate at a high level
46:51for such a long time.
46:53And I feel like Masi's held his shape well.
46:56And now as it's going,
46:58he knows it's coming into the last minute.
47:00He's going to back down on his control.
47:03Yeah, when you're under massive stress,
47:07you're hugely fatigued,
47:08to keep your composure, keep your shape,
47:11it's not an easy thing to do,
47:12and Masi's done it well.
47:13Probably done it the better of the two.
47:15Well done again, how you doing?
47:18Chamberlain just loading up for that left hand.
47:20He couldn't get it away.
47:21A short jab came back from Masi,
47:23as he was looking for it.
47:24Masi just short with the uppercut,
47:26and it's two to throw this fight.
47:28Masi started nice and sharp.
47:30Three-fourth fight was looking good.
47:32Chamberlain at the beginning of the second half
47:35really got into it, had that big round,
47:37and then Masi has just managed
47:39to wrestle things back in his favour
47:41the way that we're looking at it.
47:42And that swing of the pendulum
47:44is always what you want.
47:46Final 20 seconds here.
47:50Can one of them close the show in style?
48:06There goes the bell.
48:08Respect to both men for a great fight.
48:12That's all I have to say.
48:14Respect to both men for a great fight.
48:41Right from the off, the first minute and a half,
48:44they had a little bit of a look at each other,
48:46but after that, they got to work.
48:49High skill level from both of them.
48:51Great design from both of them as well, of course.
48:54And that made for a really, really good fight.
49:02Well, I wonder how Lorenzo Coli had that
49:05come the final analysis.
49:07We feel like Jack Masi has done enough here,
49:10the three of us,
49:11but now the match is nodding their heads either side.
49:13I mean, we're in agreement on that score,
49:16but there were plenty of close rounds in there.
49:18He was trying to agree silently.
49:20Jack, that's it.
49:22But no, I do agree with you.
49:23I think Masi won that fight by three rounds.
49:27And we all make that a good card,
49:30a solid card.
49:31And as we say, that pendulum just swang.
49:33He had a big seventh round change.
49:35It really took something out of Masi.
49:38And you wondered if he could really just go on
49:41and take control of the fight
49:43and win the fight at that point.
49:45And, Matt, it looked like he may well be capable of it.
49:48And then we got into the corner.
49:49We heard what Joe Gallagher had to say.
49:51He just pulled on his fighters' emotions at that point almost.
49:54Listen, how much do you want this?
49:56And Masi managed to give a reply.
49:58I think it was exactly what Masi needed to hear at that point
50:01because he looked like he was starting to feel sorry
50:03for himself a little bit.
50:04He'd had a good flow of the fight.
50:06Then Chamberlain kind of had a really big moment in that round,
50:10finished the round strong.
50:11And then Gallagher, rightly so,
50:13kind of fired him up in between rounds.
50:15When Masi made the final decision,
50:17you know what, I'm going to box you,
50:18you know, they went into having a tear-up.
50:21They went into having a brawl.
50:22And then when Masi said, you know what, I'm going to box,
50:24he took the fight from them.
50:27Well, still to come,
50:29coming your way very swiftly after this,
50:33we've got the surgeon, Ben Whittaker.
50:35But first, let's see which way this one has gone.
50:44Ladies and gentlemen,
50:46after 12 full championship rounds,
50:49we go to the judges' scorecards for the official decision.
50:52Judges Victor Laughlin and Mark Lyson see it 115 to 113,
50:58while Judge Mark Bates sees it 116 to 112.
51:02Declaring your winner by unanimous decision,
51:05and now the Commonwealth and European Cruiserweight Champion,
51:09Jack One Smack Masi!
51:15Jack Masi gets it by unanimous decision.
51:18A solid set of cards there from the judges.
51:20Huge bear hug from trainer Joe Gallagher,
51:23because this means so, so much.
51:27It was such a good fight between the pair of them,
51:30I wouldn't mind seeing it again, to be perfectly honest.
51:33But it's Masi who has come out on the right side.
