Sek Kam Sui (Stephen) is a country hick who elopes with Ng Dai Tai (Sandra) to begin a new life in the city, much to the dismay of her dad (Shing).
They live the life of a struggling young couple. Kam Sui finds a job at a jewelry importer and his hard work is noticed by his lady boss, Nancy (Suki). As Kam Sui moves up the corporate ladder, the chasm between Kam Sui and Dai Tai starts to widen, and the bond between Suki and Kam Sui tightens.
One day, after a marital squabble, Dai Tai goes missing and Kam Sui leaves for Singapore with Nancy ......
