00:00The story was Aaron Judge, who left this game after being hit in the hand by a pitch.
00:10Let's start this, Joe, by listening to Judge.
00:12This is him after the game last night saying, everything looks to be okay, I'm going to
00:17be just fine.
00:18Here's Aaron Judge.
00:19Aaron, how's your hand feeling right now?
00:20Feeling better.
00:21Feeling better after we got some good news.
00:22What was that good news?
00:27X-ray, CT scans, come back negative, so we're in a good spot.
00:31How much of a relief is that for you?
00:33A big relief, you know, just being hit there before a couple years ago and breaking the
00:39wrist, you know, you never know what's going to happen, so you know, finding out that it's
00:44not fractured, not broken is definitely something to do.
00:48You know what, Joe, I hope that everything he's saying is absolutely right.
00:52Boone talked like three minutes before him and didn't want to give up any information.
00:56So Boone didn't want to say anything, and then three minutes later, Judge comes in the
01:00hallway and tells you everything's fine, everything came back negative.
01:03He's not in the lineup tonight, Joe.
01:05I can tell you that.
01:06Now, look, even if it's not broken, which he says, I could understand wanting to wait
01:11a day.
01:12Maybe there's a little bit of swelling there.
01:14There's probably a little something going on, but I'll tell you this, Joe, and we've
01:18had this discussion many times before when it comes to the Yankees and injuries the last
01:23really two to four years this has started.
01:26I never believe a word that they say.
01:28Last year, they told you his feet even told you, and they told you his foot was fine after
01:33he ran into that wall out in Los Angeles, and what happened, Joe?
01:37Guy missed like two months.
01:38So I hope he's fine.
01:40I know if you're a Yankee fan, you hope he's fine.
01:43If you like betting him in home runs every night, you hope he's fine.
01:47But until I see him back in the lineup, Joe, and hitting the ball 425 feet over left field
01:52wall, I don't believe it, because I don't believe anything with them anymore because
01:56of how many times they've been wrong, Joe.
01:59Remember the Yankee faithful Carver?
02:00They were all like, they were all World Series or bust.
02:04That was in April, right?
02:05In May, best team in baseball.
02:07And then all it takes is one little hit on the wrist, and we're all up in arms now.
02:12Uncertainty?
02:13You don't know.
02:14I will say this.
02:15I believe more so on Judge because he's impulsive, right?
02:19You get the news, you want to throw it out to the media, and you want to throw it out
02:23to the fans.
02:24Hey, everything's okay.
02:26Everything's negative.
02:27I'd be shocked if there are maybe residual effects or some sort of news that they're
02:33holding back.
02:34I mean, to see Judge come out flat out three minutes after Boone came out and said nothing's
02:39wrong and he's ecstatic and he's happy, that's an impulsive emotion that you can't control.
02:46So I think he's going to be just fine.
02:49But again, it just shows you how frail the Yankee hopes are.
02:53He goes down.
02:54Good luck.
02:56He goes there and Giancarlo and all the greats look out, as you like to say.
03:02Now there's one other thing I'll say here, Joe, as I smash them for how they've handled
03:06injuries the last few years.
03:08A couple of weeks ago with Soto, they let it sit for a couple days, and it looks like
03:13they came out okay on that one.
03:16When the Cole stuff happened before the season, I said, you watch, it's going to be the whole
03:21year.
03:22He's pitching tonight.
03:23We'll see how that goes.
03:24So maybe they're turning the corner, Joe.
03:27Before this year, it's been bad.
03:29They've done a bad.
03:30Last year was pathetic.
03:32Between Rizzo with the concussion and Judge with the foot, they had so many wrong.
03:37It derailed their season.
03:38So maybe they've gotten a little bit better.
03:40Maybe they cleared out the medical staff and brought a new one in.
03:43But we'll see, Joe.
03:44I want to see him get back to, because he was on fire before last night, getting hit
03:50in that hand.
03:51Smoked for like a good six weeks he's been on fire.
03:54So hopefully it's not going to be a long-term thing.
