00:11sponsored by Senator Murray and myself,

00:14and co-sponsored by every woman senator on our side of the aisle.

00:19This measure affirms a woman's fundamental right to choose

00:23and calls for enshrining the protections of Rowan to law,

00:26as most Americans say they want.

00:28I will work with my colleagues to bring it to the floor as soon as possible.

00:34As we approach the two-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade being overturned,

00:38this month could have been a month when the Senate came together

00:42to protect Americans' reproductive freedoms.

00:45This could have been a month when both sides came together

00:48to pass common-sense legislation

00:50protecting reproductive care like contraception and IVF.

00:54This could have been a month when we put to rest the worries

00:57of the millions of women across America

00:59enduring attacks on their reproductive freedoms in the aftermath of Roe.

01:03But instead, June has been a dismal month

01:07for MAGA Republicans and their attacks on women, families, and reproductive rights.

01:12In the last two weeks, Senate Republicans have shown

01:16that for all their attempts to sound moderate on reproductive care,

01:20when it comes time to vote,

01:22they choose MAGA extremism over the wishes, desires of the American people.

01:28When Republicans blocked federal protections for contraception a few weeks ago,

01:33they chose MAGA extremism over the American people.

01:37When Republicans blocked federal protections for IVF a few days ago,

01:41they choose MAGA extremism over the American people.

01:46And when Donald Trump continues to this day

01:50to brag about working with Senate Republicans

01:53to confirm three hard-right Supreme Court justices to eliminate Roe,

01:57that is choosing MAGA extremism over the American people.

02:02Republicans cannot run away from basic truth.

02:06That's why when we return our bill

02:09to make sure that the Congress ensures the right to choose,

02:14the right to an abortion,

02:16we'll be before the Senate for a vote.

02:18Republicans cannot run away from a basic truth.

02:22Their record on women's health care is outright abysmal.

02:25It is shameful, and it is dangerously out of step with the views of most Americans.
