Transcript
00:00So we're here in Underton, 9 million miles away from Bridge North and Pam's Pool and you are Pam.
00:06That's right.
00:07Nice to meet you Pam. And what is Pam's Pools?
00:11It's a 110 acre wildlife reserve which I'm creating and running in conjunction with Shropshire Wildlife Trust.
00:20Producing as many biodiversity habitats as we can, as many interesting plants and birds.
00:29A fine line in bats, a lot of grass snakes, no adders in case you're worried.
00:37And you've got a special event coming up, it's in conjunction with the Wildlife Trust,
00:42Pam's Pools special open day, two a year and this is coming up on the 30th of June?
00:4730th of June between 10 and 2 and we have plenty of stalls and children's activities and refreshments
00:56and you can go round the reserve which isn't open to the public every day of the week.
01:04And we try and provide a nice family day out.
01:09You were saying it's kind of almost a bit of a nature event, a bit of educational, a bit of a village faith.
01:17It's kind of a bit of a few things mixed into one isn't it?
01:20There's the beautiful scenery of course as we can see behind you, this amazing space you've created.
01:26There's live music, local ice creams.
01:30The food's all locally sourced, ice creams, cakes, even the coffee, savoury food.
01:43So if I was to ask you what the mission of the day is, what's the main aims for that day?
01:49Two main aims. One, put bluntly, is to make money for the maintenance and developments of the Wildlife Reserve
01:58and the other is to spread the message that nature conservation is both important and can be fun, can be enjoyable.
