00:00the President's Cup being in Montreal. I know that has to be at the forefront of your mind.
00:05Not just you, I'm sure Nick Taylor, Adam Hadwin, Adam Svensson, and Taylor Pendreth,
00:12I mean, these are all guys that all want to be on that team. And Mike Weir being the captain,
00:17and I'm not familiar with Royal Montreal, but I've heard Montreal is just a fantastic city.
00:23It is going to be an incredible venue. Well, with all that being said, how difficult is it?
00:29Like, how hard is it to not think about future things that you want to be a part of?
00:36Yeah, I mean, I, it's hard. And I think that more so now than earlier in my career, I might have
00:46like tried to like, spend a lot of energy trying not to think about it, you know, where now it's
00:52just like, you lean into it, you embrace it and be like, wow, this would be amazing. And it'd be a
00:57lot of fun. It's gonna be hard to make that team. I'm gonna be feeling the nerves as I try to make
01:02that team. But that's, that's kind of like the fun part of what we do. We have to try and do
01:06hard things. And we get to get to try to overcome things and battle through thoughts. And like,
01:14to me, that that's, that's a fun, a fun challenge, a fun battle. And I look at it more that way than
01:19I think, you know, I made the mistake when the President's Cup was in Charlotte, of like,
01:27I think trying too hard and forcing that issue a little bit. And as a result, I didn't play well
01:32in like the six or seven weeks leading up to the picks. And I think that was kind of my downfall
01:37was I just hadn't played good enough leading up to it to warrant a pick. And so I think that's
01:45something that I've kind of learned from last time was just that, hey, look, you know, trying
01:51to force things are trying really hard to make that team. And maybe exerting extra effort isn't
01:58really the answer. You got to find that right effort level, right? Like you, I want to make
02:03that team more than anything. But I can't force I can't force the issue. So I think for me,
02:10like you said, that's probably like my biggest goal of the year was to make that team. I still
02:15think I'm in a pretty good position to do that. You know, and you look back at some of the close
02:23calls, they had a close call to Dallas where I close call the Canadian Open. And like, you know,
02:27if you get the job done, either one of those tournaments, like, you know, I'm pretty much
02:31right there, you know, as far as like an automatic pick, probably. But, you know, you have to get
02:36those things, those tournaments across the line. And I'm hopeful that I can get myself back in that
02:42position this year before that President's Cup. And yeah, but yeah, the play for Mike
02:49to play in Canada for President's Cup would be would be fairytale stuff for me. And just like
02:58a huge feather in my cap. And yeah, I have had a hard time not thinking about it. But at the same
03:05time, it excites me to think about it. And it and it motivates me a lot and keeps me, you know,
03:11working hard towards those goals. What about the golf course in the city? Just give me a little
03:17just a little feeler and a vibe of what this golf course and and just that part of the country is
03:22like. So I wish I could give you any kind of golf course knowledge. I have never played it.
03:29So I don't know what the golf course is like. I've heard it's great. I know they were there
03:36in 07 for President's Cup. The city itself is a lot of fun. I've heard that. Yeah, amazing. Yeah.
03:45And I think if you were like a young person and single, you would love to spend time Montreal
03:51as a family man. Now, it's probably not my scene, but I feel that, buddy. I'll see you at the
03:59530 dinner. I'll see. And the lights out at 9 9 p.m. But the city itself is fun. It's it's
04:09I just think that it's a great city for the president to be. I think the fans and the people
04:15there will be really passionate and behind the events. There's like some logistical difficulties.
04:24I think the event is a bit of the golf course is on a bit of an island. And whether it's an island
04:31or a peninsula, I'm not really sure. But there's a basically one road in and one road out of the
04:36golf course. That sounds like traffic. Yeah. And it's just like and it's apparently just a huge
04:42headache for the tournament ops to kind of get that sorted out. I have no idea how they're going
04:47to do it, how they're going to get people in there, how they're going to get spectators in there.
04:52But they're going to figure it out. I know that there's smart people doing it and they've done
04:56it before, so they'll figure it out. But I think guys will have a lot of fun there. I think the
05:01American guys coming up there will really enjoy the city. They'll have a lot of fun there. So
05:06yeah, hopefully, hopefully I'll be there and hopefully it'll be,
05:12you know, time for the internationals to get one.
