00:00I wouldn't have picked you for the country.
00:02No?
00:02No.
00:03Why not?
00:04I don't know.
00:05But I'm everything.
00:12Servus GQ.
00:13Ik bin Harry Kane.
00:15And these are my 10 essentials.
00:20So my first essential is my most important essential.
00:23And it would be my family.
00:25I've got an amazing wife and 4 kids.
00:272 girls, 2 boys.
00:28And of course they mean the world to me.
00:30It's the best feeling in the world being a dad
00:33and spending time with them and watching them grow up.
00:36So I've got a picture here.
00:39That is my beautiful family.
00:40The most important thing in my life and everything I do is for them.
00:43So I'm very proud and privileged to have the family that I do.
00:50Golf is my second favourite sport in the world.
00:52A really important part of my life for many reasons.
00:55My best way of switching off from all the stress and nerves that come with football maybe.
01:01Golf is one of those sports you could play terrible for like 17 holes
01:05and then hit one good shot on the last hole and that makes you want to come back tomorrow.
01:10There's nothing like connecting with the ball properly
01:12and seeing it go close to the hole or holding a long putt from 30-40 feet.
01:17I'm at a decent level.
01:19My handicap is 3 at the moment which is not bad.
01:21Since I've been here in Munich I've not been able to play as much as I was back in London.
01:25I think it's a really good social sport as well.
01:27You get to meet a lot of people and spend time outside.
01:31I don't know if you can see the pig here.
01:32So this was a story from my wife when we pretty much first got together.
01:36I was playing golf all the time so she brought me that to say that
01:39it's something to remember her by because I'm always golfing, not at home.
01:43That stayed on the bag for about 12 years now.
01:45It's a nice reminder of my wife not being too happy with me golfing.
01:51It's like a lucky charm now and the kids like it.
01:54So whenever I'm playing golf the kids run over and see the pigs.
01:58There was this viral video of you doing a trick shot.
02:01Did you manage to do that on the first try?
02:10I wish it was the first try.
02:11It took me a bit of time to do it but it ended up coming out really well
02:15and a lot of people spoke highly of it.
02:17I know what it's like to watch those things so it's nice to be on the other side
02:21and sharing some for others to watch.
02:27Chess is an important essential in my life really.
02:30Mainly because this completely clears my mind from all the stuff going on.
02:35Maybe if you've got some nerves before a game, I use chess to switch off.
02:39It's such a mental game.
02:41You have to focus on every moment, every move.
02:44I've only been playing probably for a couple of years now.
02:47There was a series that came out, the Queen's Gambit,
02:49and since that came out I started to learn.
02:51I'm about 1200 rated on the 10-minute version on chess.com.
02:56I think that's okay. It's fairly decent.
02:58But I have some good games with family as well.
03:01A couple of the team play as well.
03:03Joshua Kimmich, we had quite a few games.
03:06I think Kinsey Coleman is the best but I haven't actually played him yet.
03:09I've heard he's the one to beat.
03:10He's the one to beat.
03:11I'm trying to get a bit more practice in before I play Kimm.
03:15If we're away and we're just sitting there maybe after dinner or something,
03:19I'll play some of my teammates.
03:21That's when it gets a bit more competitive.
03:23Try and make sure I win them ones.
03:25Can you show us your signature opening?
03:27Oh, signature opening.
03:29I'm going to tell my tricks here.
03:30So there, they normally go there.
03:33I'm here.
03:35Everyone online is going to know what I'm doing now.
03:41Ice baths.
03:42Essential to health, essential to recovery.
03:45Especially over the last seven, eight years,
03:48I've really focused on recovery and being able to stay fit and stay healthy
03:52and be able to play game after game.
03:54So an ice bath is something I do after every training session.
03:58I normally like to stay in there for 10 minutes,
04:01around eight degrees.
04:02Takes the breath away a little bit once you get in,
04:04but you learn how to control that with breathing.
04:07The more you do it, the more you get used to it.
04:09It has some huge benefits for physical, but I think mental health as well.
04:13It's a really nice thing to do.
04:15How do you control your thoughts when you're in the cold?
04:18I don't always do full body.
04:20I sometimes do up to the belly button.
04:23Sometimes I'll go all the way to shoulders,
04:25but my hands are free to use my phone.
04:28I'm normally playing chess or something just to take my mind off the cold.
04:33Once you're in, once that first initial takes your breath away a little bit,
04:36just like you're standing in any type of water, really.
04:43My diary.
04:44I tend to use this more than my phone, which is maybe a bit more old school,
04:48but this is an important essential to me because I log all my schedules,
04:53all my daily routines.
04:55I like to write stuff down,
04:57whether it's just things I've been thinking about
04:59or ideas that I have for maybe the Hurricane Foundation.
05:03Mental health is a big thing that I've been trying to learn more about,
05:06especially the last couple of years since we launched the foundation.
05:09Just use this to get things off your chest,
05:11whether that's talking to someone else
05:13or even just writing it down on a piece of paper.
05:15I feel like once you've written them down,
05:17they go from your mind and you can move on.
05:24My favourite watch.
05:26This is my favourite watch.
05:28This is a Patek Philippe 5370P split-second chronograph.
05:32I was never a big watch person until I was probably about five, six years ago now.
05:37And since I kind of got into them,
05:39I feel naked if I'm not wearing one now.
05:42It makes an outfit.
05:43When I'm wearing something, it could be casual.
05:45You have a casual watch that you wear, maybe a sporty watch for the summer.
05:48It's just a nice pastime that I'm able to spend some of the money that I earn
05:52and this is my favourite one, which is why I brought it today.
06:01So these are my R-Pure Planet headphones.
06:04The noise cancelling ones are the ones I use on the plane
06:06and the earbuds probably more on the coach
06:08and when I'm walking to the dress room.
06:10I don't want to go into too much detail,
06:12but everything's made from recycled plastic.
06:15Again, this is something that I've been trying to learn more about
06:18and being with companies that try and help in a certain way.
06:21Similar to what I do with the foundation,
06:23is to learn more about mental health, for example,
06:26and this is the same with making little differences to help the environment.
06:30The R-Pure Planet speaker as well.
06:32This one's more used for when I'm at home,
06:34whether I'm doing gym sessions at home,
06:36whether I'm with the kids, just spending time playing in the playroom.
06:40Got all the different types of playlists,
06:42Disney playlists and Frozen and Encanto and all those things.
06:47My boy loves, he loves Cars.
06:49And there's one song that I really enjoy,
06:51it's a country song called Wagon Wheel.
06:53So that's kind of our song that we mess about with and dance to.
06:56My parents used to listen to country music when I was younger,
06:59so it just reminds me of when I was young.
07:01So I want to teach my kids about all music,
07:04but country music is something that I really love.
07:07I wouldn't have picked you for a country guy.
07:09No?
07:10No.
07:11Why not?
07:12I don't know.
07:13I'm everything.
07:14I'm Burna Boy, I'm country, I'm Ed Sheeran, Adele.
07:16I've got a wide range of music tastes.
07:25My dogs, these are my dog Leeds, as you can see.
07:28I've got two Labradors, a black and a tan Labrador.
07:32The black one's called Wilson, the tan one's called Brady.
07:35We've had them since they were puppies.
07:37I've always loved dogs since I was a young boy and always wanted them.
07:41So before me and my wife had kids, we got two puppies,
07:44which in a way were probably harder than the children and the babies that we have now,
07:49but they're a special part of the family.
07:51The kids love them, the kids play with them, so they're an essential part to my life.
07:57Yeah, so I get asked that a lot.
07:59So I named the tan one, which is Brady,
08:01and that was after my favourite NFL player, Tom Brady.
08:04He was an inspiration for me growing up and it just felt right.
08:07And my wife named the black one, Wilson.
08:10But at the time, Seahawks and the Patriots were like rivals in the NFL
08:14and Russell Wilson was the quarterback for the Seahawks,
08:17so everyone just assumed that I named it after Tom Brady and Russell Wilson,
08:21but it was actually just Tom Brady and my wife named the other one, Wilson,
08:24just on our own accord, randomly.
08:27But everyone put two and two together.
08:31The mystery is shown.
08:37This is an essential in my life.
08:39In the last four years, I've spent God knows how many hours on the treatment bed
08:43getting prodded by these needles.
08:45I've had them in my head, I've had them in my neck, spine, legs, yeah, ankles.
08:50I want to say roughly maybe 100 needles a day.
08:52Just saw massive changes in my career.
08:54The body in general was able to recover quicker from games,
08:57was able to play more and more and feel good, especially for major tournaments.
09:01I like the Euros in the summer, we're going to be playing every three, four days,
09:04high-pressure games, high-intensity games.
09:06You need to find every little way to recover,
09:08and I spoke a little bit about the ice baths and things like that,
09:11but this treatment is essential to me to make sure that I'm recovered
09:15and ready for whatever's ahead.
09:19Oh, top three favorites for the Euros.
09:21Well, I have to say England, of course.
09:23We're going there to try and win it, and we can't run us up in the last Euros,
09:27so one step further is what we're aiming to do.
09:30France are always favorites because they've got a great record,
09:33especially in recent history, and a really tough team to beat and play against
09:38in major tournaments especially.
09:40And then I'd have to say Germany.
09:42I think being a home tournament, I think that always makes it
09:44a little bit more special for your country to go and perform,
09:47so I'm definitely not ruling Germany out.
09:49Obviously, I know quite a lot of their players now as well,
09:51so I've seen them play.
09:58Steak and chips, my favorite food.
10:01It reminds me of back home in London.
10:03Obviously, I don't eat it all the time, but I enjoy a cooking steak.
10:06Rub the olive oil in and salt and pepper with fries,
10:09and then some ketchup, I like.
10:11Have a bit of veg with it, so maybe some chili broccoli or some spinach.
10:16I'm not a big carb guy. I don't like to eat loads of carbs,
10:19so if you get a big enough steak, like a 600-gram fillet or something like that,
10:24you can really get into it, and that kind of fills you up
10:27without having to eat too many carbs.
10:29Yeah, I can handle myself in the kitchen,
10:31especially when it comes to steak.
10:33So those were my 10 essentials.
10:35Thank you for watching.
10:37If you want to watch the other videos, then click one of these places.
10:42Thank you.
