The Chiron was always going to be a tough act to follow

00:001,775 horsepower.
00:18A naturally aspirated 8.3 liter V16, 16.3, 335 horsepower electric motors.
00:28A zero to 60 time of less than two seconds, a zero to 100 time of less than five seconds.
00:37This is the 2027 Bugatti Tourbillon, and it's a plug-in hybrid.
00:42Even though everyone else seems to be sunsetting internal combustion engines, Bugatti clearly
00:48has other ideas.
00:49The Chiron will be a tough act to follow, but its successor will be a beast all on its
00:54own.
00:55At the front, the Tourbillon has two 335 horsepower motors, and behind the engine and transmission
01:01is the third 335 horsepower motor.
01:05Running down the middle of the car, like a spine, is a T-shaped 24.9 kilowatt hour battery
01:11pack.
01:12But that engine, it is a Bugatti engineered 90 degree cross plane unit with a near 9,000
01:19RPM red line.
01:20Added to a new eight speed dual clutch automatic, power output there comes to a claimed 986
01:27horsepower.
01:28It is preposterous.
01:30And despite CEO Matei Rimac saying the Tourbillon is intended to be a driver's car more than
01:34some top speed chaser, the new Bugatti can currently achieve 276 miles an hour, NBD.
01:45Of course, looking at the Tourbillon still looks like a Bugatti.
01:49There's the familiar horseshoe grille, the C-shape along the flanks, and the two-tone
01:53color scheme.
01:54However, the Tourbillon's roof and cowl are 1.29 and 1.77 inches lower than the Chiron's
02:01while still keeping the same overall footprint and passenger volume inside.
02:06The car's designers called the profile peregrine falcon-like because of the way the roofline
02:11and giant diffuser work to make an aerodynamically neutral wing when moving at top speed.
02:20Looking inside, the word timeless comes to mind when describing the cabin.
02:24Screens are kept at a minimum and the fixed hub steering wheel rotates around the hidden
02:29collar.
02:30The driver's cluster is comprised of three mechanical gauges built by a Swiss company
02:35that also manufactures high-end watches.
02:38Really fitting, considering the Tourbillon's name.
02:41For now, Bugatti is planning just 250 cars with production and deliveries to hopefully
02:47start in 2026.
02:51As for how much, oh, you know, just a cool $4.3 million to start.
