00:28shows armed men in his house in San Pablo, Laguna

00:31and the possession of boxes containing weapons, watches, and family items.

00:37Police Staff Sergeant Daryl Paghangaan, Patrolman Roy Navarrete, and Patrolman Rigel Brosas

00:45were found guilty of kidnapping in serious illegal detention and robbery with intimidation

00:50but pleaded not guilty.

00:53But earlier, the affidavit of desistance was filed

00:56in San Pablo Regional Trial Court Branch 29

00:59the family of Lasco, including his wife.

01:02They refused to give an interview.

01:04According to the affidavit,

01:05after thinking about it, the family was no longer interested in continuing the case

01:10because of the stress and mental anguish it brings to them.

01:14They are also revoking any testimony and judicial affidavit

01:18that they filed in favor of this case.

01:20But the State Prosecutor still decided to continue the case

01:23even though the family of Lasco is no longer participating.

01:27This means that the suspects will not be able to appeal.
