Chris Cuomo isn't a fan of Presidential debates, dismissing them as pageantry -- but he says that's not the case with the faceoff next week between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

00:00Is this debate next week going to move the needle?
00:04Yes, and here's why I've never said that before.
00:08Don't like debates.
00:09Think they're pageantry.
00:10Think they're more for the media than they are for the masses.
00:13This election, Harvey, has been uniquely made about President Joe Biden's mental deficiency
00:19as perceived, certainly by his detractors.
00:23So this is going to be a major moment and test.
00:28If Joe Biden goes out and comports himself in a way that they don't expect him to, and
00:35they've set a very low bar, Trump is going to regret what he's been saying.
00:40However, however, I'll tell you something else.
00:44If Joe Biden goes out there and by any reasonable estimate, looks like poo-poo, I think that
00:51it is going to be the one and only window of change in the Democratic ticket.
00:57I know Joe Biden, OK, and I know his inclinations, and I believe if he gets roughed up in this
01:05debate and he knows he got roughed up in the debate, he is going to have a man in the mirror
01:10moment and he's going to have to ask himself, do I really believe that Trump has to be kept
01:17from power?
01:19And if I believe that that is a must, do I need to step aside for that to happen?
01:24Because it now seems clear I'm not going to beat him after what just happened on that
01:29stage.
01:30And that's unusual.
01:32That's an unusual moment.
01:33I believe it is a reality, not just a possibility, but a probability.
01:39So that's why this debate matters, because the way it's been set up on the right and
01:43what it may mean for Joe Biden personal if it goes sideways in a real way.
