00:00Well, I don't think working people right now feel that the economy is working for them,
00:03and they certainly don't feel better off. They've faced punishing increases where it
00:07comes to taxes and also the cost of living. That's why we know that we have to focus on
00:12growing our economy. That's why Rachel Reeves has said it will be our number one mission
00:16if we form the next government, because it's how we will make sure that everyone has the
00:20chance to get on, that we deliver high and rising living standards, and that we deliver
00:24more well-paid, highly skilled jobs right across our country. But this can't be taken
00:28for granted. If people want to continue down the path that we've had over the last 14 years
00:32with living standards stagnating, wages stagnating, then they need to get out and vote Labour
00:37if they want change. Labour have given an ironclad commitment in the manifesto that
00:41we will have no increases in VAT, income tax or national insurance contributions, and everything
00:47that we've set out in our manifesto is fully funded and fully costed and requires no further
00:51tax changes. Our focus will be on growth, on making sure we're growing our economy so
00:56that we can invest in our public services. Our instincts are not to go for tax rises.
01:00We know it's really tough at the moment for working people.
