00:00Ah! Arminia, I don't know about you, but I always get the chills every time there's a major cut in a pageant,
00:05but it is the nature of the game. So, Metropolitan Theater, are you ready?
00:12The results are in. Handing me now the envelope with the scores tabulated and verified by PICPA,
00:19the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Metro Manila Region,
00:23represented by Rodora Ari Ikarano. Nice to see you again, po.
00:28Thank you very much. All right, ladies, the best of luck. And remember, if your journey ends tonight,
00:34never denied, only redirected. And I think Arminia and I have a testament to that saying as well.
00:40So, shall we get started?
00:45In no particular order, the first spot in our top 12 belongs to you, Miss...
00:54Miss Tayuman!
01:06Congratulations, Miss Tayuman!
01:09Wow!
01:10All right, so we want to get to know a little bit about you. Can you share with us,
01:14who was the first person that you told that you were going to join Miss Manila and what was their reaction?
01:19Oh, the first person that I told you is my mother and she was so shocked because actually,
01:25I am, I loved pageant, but she never saw me as someone who would join pageant.
01:31But now that I'm here, I hope that I'm making her proud.
01:34I'm sure you're making her proud. Thank you so much, Miss Tayuman.
01:38Great job.
01:40All right, you made it to the next round.
01:45Santa Ana! Come on down, girl.
01:56Congratulations, looking lovely tonight. Okay, girl, I have a question for you.
02:01So, I didn't grow up here and I'm still exploring a lot of the Philippines.
02:04What is the one beach or island you would suggest for someone to visit for the first time and why?
02:11The first island that came to mind will be Boracay because of its white sand that is very uncommon to all nations.
02:20And I am very proud of Boracay, our own island.
02:24Oh, it's beautiful. I've heard amazing things. Great answer. World-class beaches. Thank you, Miss Santa Ana.
02:32All right, our third spot in the top 12 of Miss Manila 2024 belongs to...
02:41Come on down, Miss Paco!
02:51Hello, Miss Paco. Nice to see you. Congratulations.
02:55Thank you so much.
02:56All right, we know it's nerve-wracking being up on this stage.
02:59So, I just want to know, do you have any personal affirmations or things or pep talks that you give to yourself before stepping out on this stage?
03:07And could you share it with us?
03:09Actually, that is a question I asked you backstage.
03:12I asked if you have any tips for me that can help me calm my nerves.
03:17And you told me to go to my happy place, so that's exactly what I did.
03:20I went backstage. I meditated for a little bit. I did some breathing exercises.
03:24I went to my happy place and realized the Philippines is my happy place.
03:28So, it calmed my nerves a bit. So, that's why I'm really happy right now.
03:31Yes, there's power in that.
03:33Thank you so much for sharing that with us. Congratulations again, Miss Paco.
03:38All right, let's keep it going.
03:41You may now claim your spot.
03:45Santa Cruz!
03:55Hello. Congratulations, Miss Santa Cruz. Looking lovely tonight.
03:59Okay, my question for you, super easy, but you know what?
04:03Something about pageants I love is getting to spend time with your co-candidates. Am I right?
04:08That's true.
04:09And who will you miss the most among your candidates?
04:13I would say those would be my roommates, Miss Tayuman and Miss New Panaderos.
04:19We have this bond like sisters or even more.
04:23We've helped each other dress up, do our makeup.
04:27So, I would really miss that after Miss Manila.
04:30Some really good quality girl time with the roommates. I love that.
04:34Thank you.
04:35Well, that's great. Thank you so much. You look great. Congratulations again.
04:40All right, moving right along. We have our fifth spot up for grabs.
04:45Take your spot, Miss Kiapa.
04:55Welcome and congratulations.
04:59All right, my question is, if you were to win Miss Manila tonight,
05:03who are you dedicating your win to and what would you say to them?
05:07Well, I'm getting emotional because I've been following the Miss Manila pageant for years.
05:12And I was the first Miss Kiapa to represent the Kiapa on the Miss Manila stage.
05:18So, I would dedicate this journey to my Kiapense. Thank you.
05:22That's so heartwarming. Thank you so much.
05:25Thank you so much. And you are making history on this stage and hopefully setting the path for future Miss Kiapos to come.
05:32Thank you so much for sharing that with us.
05:34All right, we have spot number six.
05:37You're a Miss Manila 2024 semifinalist, Sampaloc.
05:45Come on down, girl.
05:47Congratulations.
05:49Congratulations to Sampaloc.
05:51Oh my gosh. What an amazing feeling, right?
05:56So, I know today is a really big day. It's such a special day that all the ladies have been training for.
06:02Can you tell me what was going through your mind when you woke up this morning?
06:06I was just thinking that I'm going to do my best today.
06:09That I'm not going to have any regrets.
06:11I'm going to walk with grace, with love.
06:13And I'm going to share this to everyone here tonight.
06:16Oh, absolutely. I love that. A good morning affirmation and routine.
06:20Thank you and congratulations again.
06:22Thank you.
06:24All right, we are halfway through our top 12.
06:26Or a little bit more than that, should I say.
06:28And our seventh spot is up for grabs.
06:31You can take a breath of relief.
06:33Your spot is yours, Miss Pandaca.
06:42All right.
06:43Who or what is your spirit animal?
06:47My spirit animal, I think, is a monkey.
06:49Okay, I think a monkey is very fun.
06:51So, that's something that describes me.
06:53Thank you so much for that.
06:55Thank you.
06:56Okay, we are at number eight.
07:00Come on down, San Andreas.
07:10Hello and congratulations.
07:14Hey girl, you look like you have been working hard.
07:17You look beautiful tonight.
07:19Thank you so much.
07:21You're welcome.
07:22So, my question is, after all this training and hard work,
07:25what is one thing you're looking forward to after this competition?
07:29Maybe just to relax.
07:31Well, I'm really looking forward to taking the longest nap of my day.
07:37I can feel that. I love that too.
07:39Yes, naps are great. Power naps too, yeah?
07:42Congratulations.
07:44Thank you.
07:45Congratulations.
07:46All right, our ninth spot is up for grabs.
07:51And it belongs to Miss Otis.
08:07Congratulations.
08:09Welcome to the top 12 of Miss Manila.
08:12All right, if it is someone, a tourist, a traveler's first time to the city of Manila,
08:18where would you take them and why?
08:20Oh, I think as a history junkie, I would like to take,
08:25I would like to visit Paco, Manila.
08:30We're in the Josepi Laurel House.
08:33It is very historic because you will know the history and the memory of Josepi Laurel.
08:38We all know that Josepi Laurel is one of the most influential people
08:43that marked the Philippine history.
08:45So, that would be all. Thank you.
08:47I think you'd make a great tour guide because you seem to have so much knowledge about the history.
08:51So, thank you so much and congratulations once again.
08:56And now, number 10, you can come on down and claim what's yours.
09:01Menugue.
09:08Come on down. Come on down, girl. Wow.
09:12Congratulations. You had a moment like, is it me?
09:17Wow. How are you feeling right now?
09:20I actually didn't know I was cold.
09:22So, I was a little bit late because I didn't know I was cold. I'm sorry.
09:26It's you, girl. You are the chosen one. Congratulations.
09:29My question for you is, who is your most favorite person in the world?
09:34That's very hard to pick.
09:37Given my mom, but come on, let's hear it. Everybody.
09:40Oh, yes. I love that.
09:44We love the whole crowd because they are bringing energy tonight.
09:48Yes. Well, congratulations again. Thank you so much.
09:53Oh, my gosh. Arvani, two spots left. I know. Oh, my gosh.
09:58One lucky girl. This is your spot.
10:02Miss España.
10:08Congratulations, Miss España.
10:12So, you had a few months worth of competition here at Miss Manila.
10:16And I'm just curious to know, if you could go back and talk to yourself on day one,
10:20what would you tell her? Would you give her a little encouragement?
10:23Would you tell her something funny? Could you share it with us?
10:26I would actually tell her that you are the best person
10:30because you stood up here in Miss Manila,
10:33training you to show your advocacy and what you stand for. Thank you.
10:38Amen, sister. I love that.
10:40Congratulations. And welcome to the top 12.
10:44To complete our top 12 semifinalists, congratulations,
10:51Miss Dagupan Extension.
10:57You can breathe.
11:00Take a deep breath, girl. Take a deep breath. Soak it in.
11:03You're looking gorgeous. Gorgeous, gorgeous.
11:06How does it feel to be called last? Tell me.
11:09It's something that I don't want to feel again. I'll be very honest.
11:13My legs were shaking back then. I was like,
11:16please call my name. Please call my name.
11:19Well, you made it, girl. Last but not least,
11:23And also congratulations to the rest of our top 12
11:27and to also the rest of the candidates.
