Baton Rouge, Louisiana Tornado - June 8, 1989
Video of an F2 wedge tornado that struck just north of downtown Baton Rouge in the morning hours of June 8, 1989.
There is some debate as to which tornado this video shows. While it is commonly cited as the Grosse Tete tornado that killed two people at an aluminum plant, the twister's location east of the Mississippi River makes it more likely this is the F2 that struck Baton Rouge proper. Whatever the case, the Baton Rouge area tornadoes combined killed two people and injured 90 others.
