The Old Man's Tale

In the quiet of his introspection, an old man sits alone,
He once mingled with the crowd, but now his heart is solitary.
Human nature seemed so raw, stripped of all its grace,
Man is the wolf to his fellow man, lost in the rat race.

He walks alone down the path, where shadows never lie,
The superficial ties, he left them all behind.
What the world may bring is just a game,
Where the pieces on the board are the same, but the players change.

The liquid bonds of modern life never held him tight,
Shallow as a puddle, fading in the night.
To step in twice, the river's flow, it's never quite the same,
Society turned good men cruel, lost them in the game.

He walks alone down the path, where shadows never lie,
The superficial ties, he left them all behind.
What the world may bring is just a game,
Where the pieces on the board are the same, but the players change.

Nature made him happy, once so pure and kind,
But society's chains corrupted, darkened his bright mind.
He chose solitude, found peace in the wild embrace,
For man's touch was poison, he left without a trace.

He walks alone down the path, where shadows never lie,
The superficial ties, he left them all behind.
What the world may bring is just a game,
Where the pieces on the board are the same, but the players change.

In the silence of the forest, the old man finds his truth,
Far from human frailties, far from lost youth.
No man can step in the same river twice, it’s clear,
He found his peace in nature, far from human sneer.
