00:00Afghanistan had taken some big scalps already in the tournament, there was a lot on the
00:14game, both teams looking for a semi-final spot.
00:18So I knew it would be a test for Australia.
00:21And Australia just after a couple of early poor performances had just started to get
00:24going so you felt that both teams were coming together at a good time.
00:29A big story about Afghanistan in their early years in international cricket has been the
00:32success of the bowlers and obviously in particular the spinners.
00:35But I think what we saw was the batters starting to really develop and say to everybody else
00:43that we've got a batting side here that is as good as anybody else.
00:53We all thought the game was over.
00:55Australia looked down and out.
00:57Well I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing, I mean 7 for 91 is a winning position.
01:04And they were so high, their feeling was so high, they were believing in themselves, they
01:08could sense, they could smell a bit of history coming into this occasion.

01:51was so far away, that you thought to yourself, nah, they couldn't get out of this.

02:14The energy that he used up, the way that he was cramping up, it was a one man show.
02:21There the physios came out quite a few times, and then to the one point Adam Zanfel was
02:25actually padded up, looked like he was going to come onto the ground and Maxwell was going
02:28to retire hurt, I didn't think that would ever happen.
02:32But when he started striking, when he got to 100 and then got to 120, this sort of sense
02:38of inevitability sort of came over me, I just thought he's going to get this done, he's
02:42going to end up 200 not out and win the game for Australia.
02:45And Maxwell heads up the pie!
