The government takes a colour-blind stance in providing opportunities for Malaysians to attend Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Ahmad Zahid said that this approach is evident in the government's efforts to open up opportunities for students regardless of race to undergo TVET-related training in China.

00:00Thank you, Your Excellency.
00:03The fat lung is old.
00:05That's my second question.
00:09Please, Prime Minister.
00:11Your Excellency, Your Excellency,
00:12I would also like to congratulate you again
00:15on your return to the land of water, God willing,
00:17by Hajj Mabrur
00:19and Shayan Maskuran, God willing.
00:22Your Excellency,
00:24there is no fat lung and there is no thin lung.
00:27But the important thing is the question of commitment,
00:31including the question of Tibet that you raised.
00:34The government needs color in this question.
00:38And God willing,
00:41with the implementation of the Tibet Program
00:44as a new system in alternative education,
00:51the MCI or the Malaysia-China Institute
00:55is based on the focus of the Prime Minister
01:00from the base of the East to the base of East cooperation.
01:05In the past, it only focused on cooperation
01:09and looked at the issues of technological development
01:14and technological transformation only from Japan and Korea.
01:17But the fact is,
01:19China is the second largest economic power in the world.
01:23In fact, in terms of technology,
01:25sharing and technological transformation is done by them.
01:29When I officially visited China,
01:33of the only two institutions in Tibet
01:36that cooperated with Malaysia,
01:39at that time there were 220 institutions in Tibet
01:43and also industrial entrepreneurs
01:45who wanted to cooperate with Malaysia
01:47to offer the Tibet Program.
01:50Therefore, the government decided
01:53to establish the Malaysia-China Institute
01:57as well as the Malaysia-British Institute,
02:01German-Malaysia Institute, and so on,
02:04so that the technology transfer can be done.
02:10As a result,
02:11several new fields have been offered to Malaysian students,
02:15such as automotive,
02:18from conventional automotive to new technology,
02:25not only EV but also REV, including hydrogen.
02:29Similarly, in renewable energy,
02:33solar and so on,
02:34IoT, AI, and robotics
02:38have been offered to Malaysian students.
02:41In terms of retention,
02:46our students will not work with Chinese companies in China
02:50when they graduate.
02:54On the contrary,
02:55they will return to work with Malaysian companies
02:59or Chinese companies in our country
03:03as part of their investment strategy
03:08and use their expertise to provide opportunities.
03:14On the other hand,
03:15we know that the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Li Chang
03:19has also indicated
03:22that there are many more places
03:24that will be offered to Malaysian students.
03:28God willing,
03:29I will implement the arrangement
03:31together with other officials.
03:35Therefore,
03:36when the Prime Minister held a meeting of the State Council
03:40under the office of the Prime Minister
03:43and the Secretary-General of the State Council
03:45was also placed under me,
03:47the proactive steps were taken.
03:50Not only to strengthen the MCI,
03:55but at the same time,
03:56we also strive to create
04:00at least 250 jobs
04:04starting from the middle of this year until next year
04:07because there are approximately 250,000 jobs
04:11at the University of Tibet.
04:13God willing,
04:14short and simple courses
04:16will provide jobs
04:18and opportunities for these jobs to be created.
04:21If not,
04:23severe unemployment will be reduced
04:26and unemployment will also be reduced.
04:29With these steps,
04:31God willing,
04:32the unemployment index will be reduced
04:34by at least 1% from now on.
04:37And the steps that we have taken
04:39are proactive steps
04:41because the FDI,
04:43the Foreign Ministry,
04:44needs only 30,000 jobs this year
04:48and the country cannot offer those jobs.
04:52However, the alternative is
04:55the course of the University of Tibet
04:57whether it is short-term or short-term.
05:00Then, these students will be given the opportunity
05:03to take a professional course
05:05when they have passed
05:07the Malaysian Qualification Certificate,
05:10SQM 2.
05:12And this is a shortcut
05:14for them to get a diploma
05:16and also get a license
05:18without a high academic qualification in SQM.
