00:00Hey guys, it's Sydney Sweeney and I'm going to give Marie Claire a personal
00:04look into my little library. Welcome to Shelf Portrait.
00:14So some of the books I've read recently during quarantine have been We Used to Be Friends by
00:20Amy Spaulding, which is about two friends who kind of lose their friendship and it's told in
00:28dual timelines and so you kind of put the different pieces together as you read.
00:34I love reading either in my bedroom or sitting outside somewhere. I constantly read The Care
00:42and Keeping of You. It's a book where girls learn about their changing bodies and like growing up
00:49and I was obsessed with reading it and trying to figure out what the hell is going to happen.
00:53Again but Better by Christine Uccio. It's about a girl who lies to her parents to follow her
01:02dream of becoming a writer in Europe and she falls in love with a boy but things don't go
01:08the way that she wants and she's forced to go back home but then like we all wish that we could do
01:15she gets a second chance and she meets a fairy godmother and she gets to retry everything
01:23and do it all again for better. They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman. This is something I
01:31highly recommend. Not only is it an amazing book but I am actually going to be producing this into
01:37a limited series with my company 5050 Films and I partnered with Jean-Marc Vallee and Nathan Ross's
01:43Crazy Rose. I'm going to play Jill and Kalsi will be playing Rachel so it's a great read. It's a
01:51murder mystery and it's a lot of fun. I have definitely thought about writing a book. I constantly try to
01:59write the first sentence and I don't really know where to start. When I read I always have a notebook
02:05with me and I write in the notebook and I never really write in the actual book though. I would
02:10love to see The Grace Year by Kim Lajet in Turned Into A Movie. It's like a YA
02:18handmade style and it's unbelievable.
02:24Down on my bottom two shelves I have books that I read in school. They are all books that I felt
02:33like I really learned something from and I hope that I will read sometime again. There's this one
02:38book called Entrepreneurship and it's basically teaching and helping you learn how to manage
02:48ideas within your own organization or within yourself and I really felt like
02:55I learned a lot from this and it's a great read and for anyone doing
02:58anything I think you can take away a lot from it.
03:04Thank you for watching Shelf Portrait and don't forget to watch Nocturne.
