Trama: Ryder Hart è un Investigatore privato ed un ex Agente di Polizia, è un uomo sfortunato e beve tanto. La sua ex moglie, Anita, gestisce il bar e ristorante Sunset Grill. Anita è sentimentalmente coinvolta con Jeff Carruthers, un Detective della Polizia di Los Angeles che precedentemente ha lavorato con Ryder. Jeff presenta Ryder ad un ricco uomo d'affari, un certo Harrison Shelgrove e alla sua seducente assistente Loren. Quando qualcuno vicino viene ucciso, Hart e Carruthers s'alleano per cercare di risolvere il Crimine. Nel corso delle loro indagini, scoprono un altro Mistero che coinvolge gli immigrati clandestini dal Messico, tra questi, ci sono 2 che lavoravano al Sunset Grill...
