Adobe Dimension Course Section 3 Shape Properties

Adobe Dimension is a 3D Mockup tool which is a part of Adobe Creative Cloud. In this course, you will learn how to work in a 3d environment, import 3d models, add in textures, render and export final outputs.

In this video lesson, we will learn about Shape Properties in Adobe Dimension.

You can access the entire Adobe Dimension Course in the following playlist:

00:00So over here on the left hand side, you can see that I can go around and then add in a
00:10sphere.
00:11Let's say for example, so this is what I have.
00:13So I can go around and move the shape wherever I want.
00:17I can go around and rotate it right here as I want, and then I can place it as I want
00:21as well.
00:22So let's just go around over here and rotate it out, place it wherever I want right here.
00:27So over here on the right hand side, you can see that I got the property right here.
00:31So I can go around and change around the position by clicking and dragging this around as well.
00:36And I can go around and type in, let's say for example, the number of the position as
00:41I like as well.
00:42I can similarly work around with rotation as you can see right here.
00:45I can rotate this out, I can rotate this out around over here as well.
00:50Apart from that, you can change around the scale as you can see.
00:53So let me just press control Z.
00:54If I were to go around over here and then hold, let's say shift and scale, then you
00:58can see that everything scales out at the same time.
01:01But if I were to click and drag this out, you can see that I can scale it from individual
01:06areas right here, just like this.
01:08So that is what you have.
01:09You can work around with the size right here, just like this as well over here on the XYZ.
01:16And then you can work around with the exact size, but it does affect the scale as well.
01:22Apart from that, you can see that this is what you have, like you can go around and
01:25change around how the sphere actually looks like, how you can make it hexahedron right
01:31here or standard smoothed or octahedron as you can see right here.
01:36You can go around and change around the radius right here, which changes out the size as
01:41you can see, and change around the subdivision of the model to make it more smoother or make
01:47it more, let's say, low poly as you want as well.
01:50So let me just go around, make it standard.
01:52So you can simply go around and then change out the details right here, just like this.
01:56And even if it is standard, you can see that you do lose a bit of a smoothness as you go
02:01down really low, just like that.
02:03So that is what you have.
02:05And now you can see that this is actually the point which you can click to actually
02:09snap out the object onto the bottom.
02:12But if I were to go around over here onto the center right here, just like this, then
02:17actually this goes around and then now this snaps onto the bottom.
02:21Now it is actually going down this particular space as you can see.
02:25You can also go around and change it out to bottom or you can change it out to center
02:29right here, just like this.
02:31You can change it out to the top as well, just like this.
02:33And you can see that it actually takes this point right here.
02:36Let me just delete this and then bring in this object around over here, just like this.
02:41And over here you can see that there's the top right here, there's the center.
02:44So if I were to click, it actually snaps onto the center.
02:48On the top, it actually snaps onto the top right here.
02:51And then on the bottom, it actually goes around and snaps onto the bottom right here, just
02:55like this.
02:56So apart from that, you've got the bevel option as you can see right here for different shapes.
03:00So if I were to go around and enable this, you can see that I can utilize the radius
03:04right here to bevel it out right here and change around the sides according to how you
03:09want as well, just like this.
03:11Apart from that, you can go around and delete it and then go around with the cone right
03:15here, just like this.
03:17And then if I were to go around and bevel, then this is what you have.
03:20You can work around with the top radius right here, the top sides, the bottom radius as
03:24you can see right here, and the bottom sides as well.
03:27You can go around and work around with the slice as well, just like this.
03:31And that is what you have as you can see.
03:33Let me just go around and delete this and then go around with the cylinder and same
03:37goes with that as well.
03:38You can bevel it out as you can see right here and then change around the angle right
03:48here.
03:49You can see that it makes it look like it's right here, just like this and so forth as
03:53you can see and can work around with the size right here and the height like this as well.
03:58So that is what you have, as you can see, right here.
04:01So if I were to go around and rotate, this is where you have right here.
04:05So that is what you have and different shapes that you can bring in.
04:08So if I were to go around and click right here, then this is what I have.
04:11So if I were to go around onto this jar right here, you can work around with the size individually
04:16as well, and then work around with all of the properties for these individual objects
04:21as well.
04:22So that is how you can work around with the basic shapes properties for all of the objects
04:27that you have inside of Adobe Dimension.
04:31So hope you found this video useful.
