Transcript
00:00Well, good morning to you all. Welcome to St Michael and All Angels Church, Pelsall.
00:06I'm Reverend Alison Morris, who's the present priest at this wonderful church.
00:10And today we gathered with young and old to celebrate the 180th anniversary.
00:15Members of our congregation and pupils of our church school, St Michael's Church School in
00:19Pelsall, have gathered together to come cherish and celebrate all that is important in this
00:25community. And so we've got youngsters aged 10 to 11 asking lots of questions about life in
00:33a history of Pelsall and also about their experiences of being Christian in this community.
00:39So we do hope that people will come and celebrate and cherish their important memories.
00:43This project is also linked with the Walsall 2040 Borough Strategic Plan.
00:49One of the strands is about celebrating the heritage, history and legacy of the community
00:53and sharing those memories that often will die with the elderly as they leave this earth.
00:58So we do think this is a very significant and important part of Pelsall history and we are so
01:04pleased that the engagement is going so well in the church today and we're having such fun
01:09and excitement and doing history at a really creative and imaginative way. So St Michael's,
01:15remember St Michael, cherishes its memories. Come and join us this summer as you come to
01:22celebrate with us our 180th anniversary, 1844 to 2024. Thank you for your time, God bless you all, bye.
