00:00Britney Spears and her sons, Jaden James and Sean Preston,
00:04have been estranged for many years now,
00:07but Britney has made it clear
00:09she wants to have a relationship, and there is...
00:12She's gone back and forth.
00:13I mean, when the kids, where she's railed on the kids, right.
00:18But there is a little bit of thawing that has happened.
00:22You know that the kids are now living in Hawaii
00:25with their dad, Kevin, and his wife, Victoria,
00:29but they moved there last year,
00:31and they haven't seen each other,
00:32but they did have some communication.
00:34So what we found out is that on Mother's Day,
00:38the boys actually called Britney Spears.
00:40This is a different story from what you might have heard.
00:43There was a story out there last week
00:45that they have reconciled and that everything,
00:48they're all getting along now.
00:50Britney's gone to Hawaii a couple of times this year.
00:52She supposedly saw the kids.
00:53Didn't happen.
00:54She did not see the kids.
00:56The only communication's really been this Mother's Day.
00:59Which I think is a good sign
01:00that they would make a call to her on Mother's Day.
01:02It is a good sign, but look,
01:04this is a very difficult situation.
01:07Britney has a mental illness that has caused
01:10a lot of disruption between her and her kids.
01:13And again, you know, a lot of this
01:16is just the mental illness acting out.
01:18But there have been a lot of things
01:20that have been going on behind the scenes,
01:23some of which have become public,
01:24that have made the kids very uncomfortable.
01:26And that's why they haven't seen her in around three years.
01:31They haven't really communicated
01:33other than this Mother's Day call.
01:35They are keeping the door open.
01:37They'd like to make this work, but.
01:40And that's why I said, the reason I say
01:42that I think this is a good sign
01:44is that you gotta remember that Sean Preston is now 18,
01:47Jaden is 17, so.
01:49They can make decisions on their own now.
01:51They can make decisions, and the fact
01:52that they actually did reach out to her on Mother's Day,
01:55I think speaks to what you were told,
01:56that they want to make it work.
01:58It's just not gonna happen right away at this point.
02:01And guys, the report that she had been going to Hawaii
02:03to see the boys didn't really totally make sense
02:06because whenever Britney leaves L.A.,
02:07she always gets photographed.
02:09In fact, we've seen it, we've gotten tons
02:11of paparazzi agency photos over the last several months
02:14of Britney going to Mexico, where we know that,
02:16you know, she's been spending a lot of time
02:17with her brother Brian, her and Brian
02:20seem to be getting along really well right now.
02:22It seems to be the only family member
02:23that she's spending time with more than
02:27any of the other ones.
02:28Yes, yes, it's Las Mentanas, yes it is.
02:30Go on, Brendan, I'm sorry.
02:31Yeah, I just wanted to point out
02:33his knowledge of Mexican resorts.
02:35Yeah, and we know, I mean, Britney does spend
02:37a lot of time in Hawaii, but if she had gone to Hawaii,
02:40we would have totally gotten pictures of her there.
02:42So we talked to one source who is in the know on this
02:46and said that one of the reasons that there's kind of
02:49this standstill in that relationship
02:54is that the way it was put was that there have been
02:56so many years of aberrant behavior
03:00that it is hard to reset that.
03:02And the problem right now is, I mean,
03:05there was a story out in one of the media outlets
03:08about how great the resolution has been for Britney.
03:13No, it has not been great for Britney.
03:16She is not doing well, and it's the mental illness
03:20that now is not really being monitored by anybody but her.
03:25And you're putting her in charge
03:27of her own mental well-being when she isn't the one
03:32that can really make the decisions on,
03:34should I be taking my drugs today?
03:36Should I be going to the therapist tonight?
03:39And she's been suffering as a result of this.
03:41So these stories that are coming out,
03:44oh, everything has now resolved itself
03:46with the conservatorship and everything's fine.
03:48No, it's not.
03:50My name is Dr. Domenico.
03:51I am from New Jersey.
03:53And when I hear this story,
03:55I think about how it's a multi-step process
03:59leading to the reunification process
04:02and rebuilding connection.
04:03Because you're dealing with the need to rebuild trust.
04:06You're dealing with the need to rebuild the feelings
04:09of safety emotionally and physically.
04:11And the prescription for wellness that I have
04:13for the family is more time together
04:17between Brittany and the kids to rebuild that connection
04:20that may need to involve a third party
04:23because this may just be bigger than the three of them.
04:25Yeah, the problem with that though
04:28is when she is going through it,
04:31it's hard to keep everything between the lines
04:35as we've seen.
04:37That's a tough thing to do.
04:38So you bring them all together.
04:41And if she goes-
04:42One thing has to be dealt with before
04:45you can bring all of them together.
04:46Exactly.
04:47Exactly.
