00:00I play a lot of Minecraft with my son, and then when I just need, you know, to have some
00:09me time, if you put it that way, I actually still play StarCraft Brood War.
00:13I do this for Iron, and Taro adults.
00:20I want to touch on some of the cultural impact, and touch on the Smash Bros reveal, because
00:27I'm still recovering from that.
00:31How has that, Nintendo reached out to you and said we want to put Steve and Alex in
00:36Smash Bros?
00:37In Smash Bros, since they have this phenomenon of like making a big deal of introducing a
00:42new character, and people guessing what's the next character, I think very early on
00:49we started thinking about like what, like almost like as a joke, what if it would be
00:54Steve, or another character from Minecraft.
00:58Now I don't exactly remember how the connection was made, but I do know that when we started
01:06talking with Nintendo, and we started, like we brought in the people at Mojang that knew
01:11the game really well, and had ideas about what could the character be.
01:14So we put together a little deck, and my colleagues went to Tokyo, and had a meeting in which
01:21Sakurai-san presented his own ideas, and it was very clear like he knew Minecraft really well,
01:27of course he knew what was possible to do in his game, and after that it was a really
01:33fun collaboration in which we gave like guidance on animations, and how the artwork, and such.
01:39And then, yeah, when it was released, you know, the Twitter service to go down almost,
01:45you know, that was so impactful.
