00:00Hey, it's People in 10, and karma is a guy on the chiefs, going home with T-Swift at
00:094am.
00:10That's how late these two partied together in London, after Travis made his surprise
00:14debut on stage at the Heiress Tour.
00:16I mean, even Taylor was swooning over her man up there.
00:20He's got those acting chops for sure.
00:22But that actually wasn't the first time she posted him this week.
00:25They went Insta-official with this epic selfie with Prince William, Prince George, and Princess
00:30Charlotte.
00:31You know, casual.
00:32British and American royalty at its finest.
00:36Mindy Kaling was already mom of two goals.
00:39But now, surprise, she's got three, with baby Anne joining the squad.
00:43She made the big reveal the day she turned 45, which was so sweet.
00:47She called it the best birthday present.
00:50And this isn't the first time she shocked us.
00:52Her first pregnancy news came out of nowhere too.
00:55Pretty sneaky, sis!
00:56Baby Anne joins 6-year-old Kit and 3-year-old Spencer.
00:59And before you ask, Mindy's never revealed who the father was for those pregnancies,
01:04and she didn't for this baby either.
01:07And that's not all the baby news this week.
01:09Elon Musk confirmed he welcomed his 12th child earlier this year, meaning these two are neck
01:14and neck.
01:15Come on, step it up, Nick.
01:16You haven't had a kid since 2022.
01:17I'm just kidding.
01:18So this is Elon's third child with Siobhan Zillis.
01:23We don't know the name and gender, and honestly, we may never, because he likes to keep his
01:28kids' lives private.
01:29Respect!
01:30The fastest woman alive is finally headed to the Olympics.
01:35Sha'Carri Richardson sprinted the women's 100-meter race in just 10.71 seconds, securing
01:40her spot at the Paris Games.
01:41The qualifying finish came after she tripped over her untied shoelace the night before,
01:47just as she was coming out the blocks.
01:48But of course, my girl didn't just recover.
01:51She finished strong, beating all five of her competitors.
01:54Yes, Sha'Carri, our queen of the track.
01:58The Olympics don't even start till the end of July, but there's already drama brewing
02:02and some beef between the USA and Australia.
02:06Let's find out what happened.
02:07Hey, Mako.
02:08What's up?
02:09Hey, Sean.
02:10OK, so Australian swimmer Kate Campbell didn't qualify to go to the Paris Games, but a lot
02:16of athletes didn't.
02:17So why are we talking about her specifically?
02:20Well, Kate was hoping to become the first Australian swimmer to compete in five consecutive
02:24Olympic Games.
02:26But at the trials, she came in seventh place during the 100 meters and she failed to qualify.
02:30And why Americans care so much is because she had recently caught the ire of swimming
02:34legend Michael Phelps for this interview she did last year.
02:37Wait, wait, why?
02:39So there's this post-race interview at the 2023 World Championships where Australia had
02:44won more gold medals than Team USA.
02:46And in that interview, Kate had said that while it was great Australia came out on top,
02:51it made it so much sweeter beating America.
02:54She also admitted that she was happy to not have to hear the Star-Spangled Banner anymore.
02:58And she even gloated, bring on Paris.
03:00That's all I have to say.
03:01Well, that is some karma because she isn't going to Paris now, is she?
03:05OK, so Michael Phelps thought, what was his reaction?
03:09He pretty much shook his head and said he'd lose it if someone said that to him.
03:13And he also said that he'd make them eat every word that they just said.
03:16Kate was actually a good sport about it in the end, and she said that's what makes the
03:20sport great, all the trash talking, and I guess the competitive spirit.
03:24She's also said trash talking never hurt anyone.
03:26Let's see how Team Australia fares against Team USA.
03:29Thank you for the deets, Sean.
03:32Awesome, no problem.
03:33See you later.
03:34Bye.
03:35Don't freak out, we have a big update for you.
03:37Freaky Friday 2 is filming, y'all, as we speak.
03:42You know, 20 years later, this still gives me all the warm and fuzzies.
03:47And Lindsey looks great, doesn't she?
03:49We're so rooting for her and cannot wait to watch.
03:53Justin Timberlake is back to work after a little brush with the law, aka that DUI in
03:58the Hamptons, you know, the one that was going to ruin the tour.
04:01But apparently it's not ruined because this week, JT played at Madison Square Garden in
04:06New York City, and he gave a shout out to the Knicks with his merch.
04:09Got y'all's Knicks colors.
04:11We had to do it.
04:13While some welcomed him back, others had some ideas, including this fan who's waiting for
04:18this is going to ruin the tour merch, and this one who wants shirts with his mug shot
04:23on them.
04:24You know what?
04:25Maybe they're on to something.
04:28It's been hot in New York City lately, and I'm blaming Lupita Nyong'o, who brought the
04:32heat to the Empire State Building this week.
04:35Can we take a quick second to appreciate the fit from head to toe?
04:39The shades, the tuxedo jacket, that iced out necklace with the briefs and fishnets.
04:44Lou for sure lit up the landmark, all while promoting a quiet place day one.
04:49But this look ain't keeping us quiet, honey.
04:52Oh no.
04:54Worlds collided this week as Japan's Emperor and Empress touched down in London for a state
04:59visit with King Charles and his royal fam.
05:01But Empress Masako wore an unexpected accessory.
05:05A face mask outside while sitting next to Queen Camilla on a carriage ride.
05:09Then she took it off when she got inside Buckingham Palace.
05:12So what's the deal?
05:14Turns out she's actually allergic to horses.
05:17Mystery solved.
05:18We understand.
05:19And so does Prince Louis.
05:22Now it's the sit down with Idina Menzel.
05:24Hi Idina.
05:25The Queen of Broadway is here.
05:32Congrats on your new Take Me or Leave Me tour.
05:35What makes now the perfect time to hit the road and the high notes?
05:38Oh, you're so sweet.
05:40It's been a long time since I've been on the road.
05:42It's been like eight years.
05:44So I've been chomping at the bit to get back out there and connect with my audience.
05:49I have a lot of new stories to tell.
05:51I have new ideas and arrangements for the songs that I'm known for.
05:56So I'm excited.
05:58This live performance is, I think, my most favorite place to be.
06:03You know we gotta ask, right?
06:05The Wicked movie is coming out this fall.
06:08You're green.
06:09I am.
06:12And you're the OG Elphaba.
06:14So Idina, what does it feel like to see something so close to you carry on through generations?
06:20It means a great deal to me.
06:21I have a huge sense of pride about it having been a part of its creation and watching it,
06:32seeing it touch so many people's lives and to be able to sort of pass the torch to people
06:40that I love on a personal level and professional level.
06:45But yeah, it's mostly about sort of being in this family for so long and knowing what
06:51we went through to get it to where it is.
06:54It's just a very special, special thing.
06:57Have you talked to the new Elphaba, the amazing Cynthia Erivo?
07:00I mean, yeah, we talk all the time.
07:03I just, you know, give her my love and support and just try to remind her to enjoy the process
07:09actually because I think sometimes that gets by us when we're working hard and we want
07:14something to be good and we sort of forget to enjoy things.
07:17So I was just trying to remind her of that.
07:20But I wasn't giving her any advice as to how to play the role or anything like that because
07:24she is a supreme actress and she should do her own thing with it.
07:29Or maybe how to get the green makeup off.
07:31I told her a little bit about that.
07:32What did you say?
07:33What's the trick?
07:34Because sometimes my makeup don't come off.
07:35What's the trick?
07:36The trick is this Neutrogena soap, a very specific one.
07:40And the one that comes in like a pump and is orange looking seems to be the only one
07:45that really works.
07:47Now Adina, between you and I, you wouldn't happen to tease a collab-o now, would you?
07:54Um, you know, if I told you anything about that, I'd have to kill you, so.
07:59All right, let's move on.
08:00Any insights you can share at all for Frozen 3?
08:02No, I can just tell you that I've been told that there's going to be a Frozen 3 and 4
08:08and that makes me very happy because I love working with my posse.
08:14I can't believe it's been 10 years since you unleashed Let It Go on us.
08:17Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore.
08:25Looking back on your career, and I really mean this, did you ever think that you would
08:28make your mark in pop culture history so many times?
08:32I think about it when someone like you says it like that.
08:35And that makes me very proud.
08:38I don't realize it at the time because nothing that ever becomes that kind of phenomenon
08:43seems that obvious.
08:45Probably because they're always, it's something that's different and unexpected, which is
08:50what gives it its power, but you don't see it coming.
08:53How's Walker?
08:54I cannot believe he's 14.
08:56Great.
08:57He's a teenager, but he still hugs me once in a while, so that's, you know, I'll take
09:02that.
09:03What surprises me is just how mercurial it is.
09:06One minute, you know, they want nothing to do with you, and the next minute, they really
09:10show you how much they need you, and so you have to be on your toes and be willing to
09:15get out of their way.
09:16You have to cut out of your own way, and not take things too personally, and know that
09:21they feel your love, but also they need their space.
09:24Okay, we're going to put 10 seconds on the clock, promote any one of your projects.
09:28Ready?
09:29Go.
09:30I'm going to promote my new musical that I'm very excited about.
09:34I've been working on it.
09:35It's called Redwood.
09:36I've been working on it for 15 years, and it's finally coming to fruition, and I will
09:40be singing songs from Redwood on the tour as well, to get everybody's palettes wet for
09:46that.
09:47Idina, thank you so much for being here today.
09:49Thank you so much.
