When it was launched in 2020, the Toyota GR Yaris received a lot of praise and enthusiasm and took the hearts of its fans by storm. The thoroughbred racing machine from the hot hatch segment - the class of compact sports cars - left the competition behind with its convincing performance, so that Toyota could actually consider its work done.

But only actually: Because as soon as the first units had rolled off the production line, the engineers at Toyota did everything they could to make the GR Yaris even better: more powerful, more responsive, more exciting.

The GR Yaris owes its successful formula of power, precision and control to the know-how that the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team has gained in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). All the experience of Toyota's engineers and master drivers as well as racing and rally professionals went into the development of the compact sports car in order to build ever better cars - both for racing and for the road.

Given the extensive list of changes, the model can be safely called the "new GR Yaris". Key features include the further developed three-cylinder turbo engine, which delivers even more power and torque, and the new Gazoo Racing direct automatic transmission with eight speeds, which enables extremely fast gear changes.

Inside, the cockpit layout and driving position have been redesigned to give an even more authentic sports car feel, whether on the road or the track. The chassis has also been strengthened and adapted - with revised spring rates and reinforced front shock absorbers - and now ensures even better control and more robustness under high loads.
