00:00Hello you're watching Anime, I'm Jordan Bassett and we're here with the brilliant Confidence
00:09Man.
00:10What's up?
00:11Howdy do.
00:12Your 2022 set here was sort of, it kind of broke you through to a lot of new people I
00:18think.
00:19It was quite a big deal.
00:20What was it like returning to the scene of the crime?
00:23I mean it was like high pressure and I suppose we were just like how can we top something
00:27like that and the way you top something like that is you just, after that set you get a
00:31whole bunch more money and you spend all the money and then you just learn how to do a
00:35whole bunch of flips and that's what we did.
00:37Yeah just do some flips, people love flips so yeah we learnt some flips and yeah it seemed
00:42to work pretty good.
00:43I heard you guys are living in London now, what's the best night out in London?
00:47Well I mean like most of our nights out have been like harassing our friends with our demos
00:52most of the time, like you know like enticing people over to our house.
00:56Yeah we lure them in and then we start playing demos and then we don't let them leave for
01:00about three or four hours.
01:02Because all of us live together now so it's kind of like this weird con man house that
01:05like people come in and they never leave.
01:07Right okay yeah, so is this the demo for your upcoming new album?
01:13Yeah so I mean they've heard everything a million times, I reckon they're probably sicker
01:16of it than we are.
01:17Oh yeah, they're way sick of it.
01:18What else can you tell us about the record, tell us the title and how it's different from
01:25the previous Confidence Man records.
01:26So like we set out to write this record where like we were like alright we figured out the
01:31best way for us to write music together is to be just like completely cooked and so what
01:35we did with this record was we were like no writing at all sober, like only wasted.
01:40And so like we'd go to Cafe Cecilia's like near our studio, get like absolutely wasted
01:45then we'd go to our studio just in London Fields and then it would pretty much be from
01:50like 4pm till like 10am and that was the only way we wrote the record this time.
01:54I suppose like that's why the album's called 3am La La La's because the hot spot was 3am
01:59and post 3am it slowly deteriorated.
