00:00One of my favorite things was in Boston at the Avalon, I think, is when you got up on
00:07the side fills, or the mains, there's some like huge speaker cabinet, and it was one
00:13of those things where you were on top of a bunch of stuff, and he was on top of a bunch
00:16of stuff, and it was really scary, because I thought you guys were both going to end
00:23it.
00:24Yes, because I thought Boston, that was it.
00:25You guys were both going to come down, and there was broken wrist, broken ankle, and
00:29it was going to be over.
00:30But it didn't go that way, but it was kind of thrilling, actually.
00:34It's kind of nice to be still able to be completely surprised, and kind of in shock and awe by
00:45people that you share a stage with, and especially with you guys that we've been playing together
00:49for so long, that you have the ability to still make me go, holy crap, you did that?
00:54That's amazing.
00:55Whether it's playing or some kind of performance.
00:57There's been a lot of that on tour, I think just in the interest of trying to mix it up
01:04and have it not be the same show every night.
01:09And not even intentionally, I mean sometimes just like, I feel like doing something that
01:13I've never done before, and I'm going to do that right now, and that's how it's going
01:17to be.
01:18I hope it works out okay, because I can't take it back, I don't have a rewind button.
01:22Or like the Orange Peel, where I refuse to leave the stage.
01:27That was good.
01:28That was a good moment.
01:29Got lost in sampler land.
01:30Yeah, actually the slidey stage at the Orange Peel was really, that was a super interesting
01:36show.
01:37Yeah, I don't think you guys were there, you guys weren't there.
01:40Yeah, you guys were there.
01:41We picked up the next day.
01:42Yeah, we played in Asheville, North Carolina, it was North Carolina, at this place called
01:46the Orange Peel that had, without a doubt, the slickest stage I think we've ever been
01:52on before.
01:53And the people at the club, this guy who was the front of house guy, was like, we've
01:58been open two years, I've never seen nobody slide around on the stage.
02:01That thing, bullshit.
02:04It was like they buffed it and didn't wax it, or something like that, you know what
02:07I mean?
02:08It was so slick.
02:09It was pretty crazy, yeah.
02:10I mean I have like, fresh sanded, when waxed masonite.
02:12Yeah, it was like, so.
02:14It was insane.
02:15I must have fell five or six times on my ass.
02:20Strangely, that could have been one of those things that went drastically the other direction
02:24for us, where we just said, you know what, screw this, we're not playing until this gets
02:28fixed, or something like that.
02:29This is just ridiculous.
02:31But the fact that we all just sort of embraced it, and turned it into the Death Cab on Eyes
02:36show, that was.
02:37Yeah, you breakdanced.
02:38Yeah.
02:39Did you?
02:40Yeah, I did one, you know, I had to just break one out for you.
02:43Is past tense of breakdance, broke dance?
02:45Yes.
02:46Broke danced?
02:47It is now, yeah.
02:48Broke danced?
02:49Yeah.
02:50Yeah.
