00:00Froggy Plays T-Ball by Jonathan Lundgren.
00:29by Jonathan Lundgren, illustrated by Frank Remkowitz.
00:36Froggy stepped up to bat.
00:38He wound up and swung.
00:40Whack!
00:41The ball sailed up, up, up, and out of the park.
00:45Home run! Home run! shouted Froggy.
00:48He yelled so loud, he woke himself up.
00:54He hopped out of bed and flopped into the kitchen.
00:57Flop, flop, flop.
01:02Let's go, Dad, said Froggy.
01:04Today's my first day of T-Ball.
01:06I know, said his dad.
01:08I'm the coach.
01:10Oops, said Froggy.
01:11I know that.
01:16He flopped back to his room to get dressed.
01:18Flop, flop, flop.
01:20Zap, zeep, zoop, zim, zap, zap.
01:26Back in the kitchen, he ate his bowl of cereal and flies.
01:30Now, Froggy, said his dad.
01:32Remember, when you hit the ball, run the bases in the right order.
01:40First, run to first.
01:42Second, run to second.
01:43Third, run to third.
01:45Then run home.
01:49I know, said Froggy.
01:52And together, they leapfrogged all the way to the baseball field, singing,
01:56First, run to first.
01:58Second, run to second.
01:59Third, run to third.
02:01Then run home.
02:06At the baseball field, the assistant T-Ball coach, Max's mother, said,
02:10Okay, team, who are we?
02:13The Giants, shouted the team.
02:15Go, Giants!
02:17Let's play ball, she yelled.
02:19Froggy, you're up first.
02:25Go, Froggy, hollered Mom.
02:27Go, Froggy, hollered Frogalina.
02:30Ga, ga, Froggy, hollered Poliwagalina.
02:34Froggy took his first swing.
02:36Swish.
02:37He missed.
02:38Then, swish, swish, swish.
02:42And on his last swing, his bat flew out of his hand and smacked Max in the head.
02:49Good thing he was wearing a helmet.
02:51Okay, Froggy, good try, said Max's mom.
02:54Next up.
02:58When Max came up to bat, he hit the ball.
03:01Whack.
03:02And got on base.
03:03And so did Matthew, Travis, Frogalina, and Big Red.
03:07Whack, whack, whack, whack.
03:13That inning was so long that Froggy's mom took Poli home for her nap.
03:21Froggy, yelled the coach.
03:24What?
03:25Get out there and catch some flies.
03:28Okay, shouted Froggy.
03:30So he grabbed his glove and flopped out to right field.
03:33Flop, flop, flop.
03:38And shagged some high flies buzzing around.
03:41Zap, zap, zap.
03:42Yum, said Froggy.
03:44This is fun.
03:45Froggy, yelled the coach.
03:48What?
03:49Boink.
03:50A fly ball smacked him in the nose.
03:52Pick up the ball, Froggy, yelled the coach.
03:55But Froggy was holding his nose.
03:57Throw it, Froggy, throw it, screamed the Giants.
04:01But by the time he threw it, the Dodgers had scored four runs.
04:09So at the end of the inning, Froggy's dad said,
04:12Oh, Froggy, next time somebody hits the ball,
04:15please run for it and throw it fast.
04:18Okay, coach, said Froggy.
04:24When it was Froggy's next turn to bat,
04:26he swung, zwap, and the ball dribbled off the tee.
04:34But he ran for it and threw it fast to first.
04:38Out, cried the ref at first base.
04:41Oops, said Froggy.
04:43I threw myself out.
04:49But he still had one more chance.
04:51It was the last inning.
04:53Two outs and the bases were loaded.
04:56Froggy stepped up to bat and swung, swish.
05:00He swung again, swish.
05:02Then on the third swing, whack.
05:08The ball sailed up, up, up, and out of the park.
05:12The crowd went crazy.
05:18Froggy skipped around the bases singing,
05:20first run to first, second run to second,
05:23third run to third, then run home.
05:30And off the field he ran toward home.
05:33Froggy, yelled Frogalina.
05:36What? Not your home, silly.
05:39Home plate.
05:44Oops, cried Froggy, looking more red in the face than green.
05:52He ran back and stomped on home plate and shouted,
05:55Home run, home run.
06:01And when he finally got home, he hollered,
06:03I hit a homer, I hit a homer.
06:06Hobunga, squealed Polly Wogalina.
06:09That's great, Froggy, said Mom.
06:11I thought that game would never end.
06:16And she gave him a hot dog with fly relish.
06:19Munch, crunch, munch.
06:24I hope you enjoyed that story.
