00:00If you're thinking about getting your kid into tennis this summer perhaps now's the time because
00:05that's what happened to Yorkshire's Fran Jones. She started out playing tennis at a summer club
00:11aged five. Now the 23 year old is back at Wimbledon Championships after her debut in 2021
00:20but sadly she did have to take some time out in between the championships due to physical health
00:26issues. From her very first summer camp at Heaton Jones has had to overcome the odds having been
00:32born with a congenital condition dysplasia otherwise known as EEC syndrome. Staff from
00:40Oxenhope in Bradford started out at Heaton Tennis Club now she's friends with the likes of Emma
00:46Raducanu and recently the pair also took a trip to Oxford University to plan their future academic
00:53careers where she hinted she may be interested in some politics but let's see how Wimbledon
01:00and the general election go first. Rackets at the ready it's time for Wimbledon and people
01:07were late camping last night sadly those who were late to set up their tent actually missed
01:13their last goals in the England match but Wimbledon is old school in that the first
01:19500 campers in the queue will get a ticket to the centred court. The Grand Slam event takes
01:27place from July 1st to July 14th at the All England Tennis Club in South West London.
01:34On the opening day of the championships defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu
01:40and Coco Gauff take to the centre's court. Previous champion Djokovic will be back to see if he can
01:48claim the title. Tennis clubs across Yorkshire are expected to see a rise in people picking up
01:56their rackets and having a go.
