04:12The USS Iowa was commissioned in 1943,
04:14and upon completion, this warship was one of the most powerful battleships of its time.

22:32Alright, taking a brief dip into the past with this next entry,
22:35as we turn our attention to one of the most historically renowned
22:39and powerful warships of all time, the Bismarck.
22:43The Bismarck was a German battleship that sailed the seas during World War II.
22:47The ship launched in 1939 and quickly became a symbol of German naval power,
22:52as well as one of the largest battleships ever built by Germany.
22:55It was known for its impressive firepower, robust armor, and advanced technology for its time.
23:00It was armed with eight 15-inch guns and four twin turrets.
23:04This powerful beast of a ship could unleash devastating broadsides against enemy vessels.
23:08And when it was under attack, it relied on its exceptionally thick armor to provide formidable protection.

23:18In May 1941, during its maiden voyage,

24:13She used her twelve 5.9-inch guns and six twin turrets for anti-aircraft defense,

25:47She's got a displacement of approximately 15,000 tons.
25:50It's 610 feet long and features an integrated electric propulsion system
25:54powered by gas turbines and electric drives.
25:57The Zumwalt can travel at speeds of 30 knots
25:59and can accommodate a crew of about 140 sailors.
26:02It's equipped with some pretty powerful armaments, too.
26:05Its Advanced Gun System, or AGS, with long-range precision projectiles

26:19The USS Zumwalt was designed by the United States Navy
26:21and built by General Dynamics Bath Iron Works.
26:24To make it harder to detect, the ship has a composite deckhouse
26:27that reduces its radar cross-section.
26:29It also has a wave-piercing tumblehome hull.
26:32Now, this ship is designed for a variety of missions,
26:35including land attack, littoral dominance, and anti-ship and anti-warfare.
26:39The ship was named after Admiral Elmo Zumwalt,
26:41who was the youngest chief of naval operations and a reformer in the U.S. Navy.
26:45Originally, there were supposed to be 32 of these bad boys built,
26:48but due to budget constraints, only three were finished.
26:51The USS Zumwalt is the lead ship of its class,
26:53and it represents a significant leap in naval technology and capability.
26:57It also represents the best of the best when it comes to power,
27:00which is why the USS Zumwalt has warred its way into the top spot on this list
27:04of the Top 15 Most Powerful Warships.
