00:00What does it mean to you to be a fan of AC Milan?
00:02For me, AC Milan is a strong emotion,
00:05even though I don't hide the fact that I've been a fan of it since I was a kid.
00:11So, coming here to AC Milan and seeing so many photos,
00:17these colours that have accompanied me throughout my childhood and adolescence,
00:22has been something really special for me.
00:26It would be difficult to find the right words to describe what I'm feeling right now.
00:31It's a reason for great pride, the calling of a prestigious club worldwide like AC Milan,
00:40and so I'm also aware of the great responsibilities that I'm taking on.
00:46So, there's great happiness.
00:48Now it's really a whirlwind of emotions,
00:51but at the same time, there's a great desire to embark on this magnificent journey.
00:58For me, Roma has been an extremely informative experience,
01:03because it's a club that has given me so much over the past two years.
01:08I've had the chance to share my daily work with Mr. Mourinho first and then Mr. De Rossi.
01:15I've had the chance to win important trophies, such as the Coppa Italia and the Super Cup.
01:22It's a shame that we weren't able to end our journey with the win at the Scudetto,
01:29but the thing I like the most is that we were able to make so many debuts,
01:37bringing the lads to the starting line-up.
01:40That's why I think that for us, the young players,
01:44it's our mission and our greatest achievement.
01:50It was the strongest motivation that led me to accept AC Milan's offer,
01:57as well as the club's great reputation,
02:00because I've spent many years with Professor Vergine.
02:05I've shared with him the vision of the young players,
02:09the vision of how we want the young players to grow.
02:14I share with him all the values that we need to achieve the biggest goal,
02:21which is to try to project as many players as possible into football.
02:27It was a great motivation for me,
02:30because after all these years that we've spent together,
02:34we've established a relationship that goes beyond the professional aspect.
02:38For me, that's the biggest thing.
02:44I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Abate during my two years at Roma.
02:50I know how well he's done,
02:53because I've often congratulated him,
02:57because the team has shown great football,
03:00and that's certainly one of the reasons why he's given so much to the lads.
03:07I think I've seen them grow over the last two years.
03:10I share the club's philosophy,
03:13because I think that being able to anticipate as much as possible the player
03:19helps to speed up the process of entering adult football.
03:25I'll bring all the experience I've gained over the years,
03:32trying to give that extra something to achieve this type of goal,
03:37continuing on the path Mr Abate has taken.
03:41My way of working is to always try to study,
03:46to get as much knowledge as possible from those who are doing very well,
03:51in this case in the youth team.
03:53There were lots of players who had played abroad in the second team,
03:58and who were able to make their mark in the first teams of clubs with a very high European profile,
04:07and even in the major national teams.
04:11So for me it was an instrument that we also had to reach in Italy.
04:18I think that AC Milan, like Juventus and Atalanta,
04:22firmly believe in the Under-23 project.
04:25For me it's an instrument that allows us to have even more years to train the boy,
04:33and above all to shorten, never lose control,
04:37and then be able to project it into our first team,
04:41which, as I said before, is the result and the goal that we all set for ourselves.
04:45Clearly those who do this job in any sport always play to win.
04:53The problem is to be able to win by following the right path,
04:57without speculating about the result,
05:01but how you can try to achieve it.
05:05So through the improvement of each and every player,
05:08I have to try to win the game.
05:10So the biggest dream is to be able to project as many boys as possible,
05:14of the boys I will train,
05:16perhaps winning a few trophies here at AC Milan.
05:19So I would like to combine the emotions of the moment,
05:23which victory alone can give you,
05:26with the achievement of the ultimate goal,
05:29which is to see my player wear AC Milan's jersey at the San Siro.
05:33This would be the biggest dream.
