00:00A frantic election campaign kicked off barely six weeks ago after a hurried announcement
00:06by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made in the pouring rain.
00:10Now is the moment for Britain to choose its future, to decide whether we want to build
00:16on the progress we have made or risk going back to square one.
00:20But it's precisely this argument from the Conservatives that's got them poised for a
00:24washout.
00:26Britain is grappling with a cost-of-living crisis and the party that's been in power
00:30for the past 14 years is being blamed.
00:33Under their watch, Britain has left the EU, billions have been cut from public spending
00:38and the prices of food and energy have soared, a reality that's got high-profile Conservatives
00:44on course for a historic defeat.
00:46One can accept that Jeremy Hunt at a local level has done quite a lot of good, but unfortunately
00:51all the good that he's done at a local level is really destroyed by his support for a toxic
00:57government and it's what matters at a national level at the moment that matters.
01:02The opposition Labour is poised to secure huge gains in Thursday's vote.
01:07Its leader Keir Starmer is credited with revamping the party and appealing to voters looking
01:12for change.
01:13Under my leadership, we have taken this party, we have changed it.
01:17What we're asking now is for the opportunity to do the same for our country.
01:24650 seats are up for grabs in the House of Commons on Thursday and the party needs 326
01:31to form a government.
