00:00We've never had a golden that was anxious or fearful until we got Winnie.
00:05Winnie, why are you hiding behind a trash can? What's going on?
00:12In the beginning, we noticed that she was just afraid of most noises.
00:17What do you hear, Blue Bear?
00:20Like, let's go to the dog park. Let's go do all the dog things.
00:24And she just hated everything that we tried.
00:27She would just start getting closer for comfort.
00:30We adopted Winnie when I was seven months pregnant.
00:33But when we had our baby, we noticed something.
00:39Winnie's anxiety was practically gone.
00:49She was just so patient with him.
00:53So whenever guests would come over to see the baby,
00:55Winnie would be monitoring the whole interaction.
01:09And she would even do that to me.
01:12I would be feeding the baby, and she's just sitting over me, judging me.
01:23We moved into our new house and opened up our in-home daycare.
01:26That was the magic moment for us.
01:32As soon as we opened daycare, that's when she really became Nana.
01:36She just really came out of her shell.
01:42She will bring me my baby's diapers.
01:48Thank you.
01:52Thank you.
01:53I'm going to take this to the baby.
01:54And she'll also bring my baby's bottle, too.
01:57Okay, let's go.
01:58She's just a huge help to have around.
01:59During nap time, she stays in the room with them.
02:02I don't make her. The door is open. It's just where she wants to be.
02:05And the kids prefer it anyways, too.
02:07They prefer that someone stays with them, and they always ask it to be Nana.
02:10All of the parents think it's just the sweetest thing when she does that.
02:18The kids benefit from Nana so much.
02:21Whether they're playing salon or doctor or they're on the trampoline or doing crafts,
02:29she's just the center of it all.
02:32Winnie has a heart condition that limits her exercise.
02:36Daycare has been so special for us because it's the first thing that we notice
02:39that has made Winnie happy while allowing her just to stay calm and be herself.
02:45If I had to describe Nana in a few words, I would describe her as motherly, empathetic, and unique.
02:53She's just not like any other dog that I've ever met.
