00:00Hello, I'm James McMirovich and I'm here at Holden's Brewery. Since 1915 it's been brewing
00:05some of the best beer right here in the heart of the region. Golden Glow is one of the popular
00:10ones, it's also got the new Sunburn that's come out, the American Pale Ale, and there's
00:15many other good products besides that. They do gins here, they do various condiments,
00:20and they make lots of good stuff. I'm here with the Managing Director, Jonathan Holden,
00:24and what is it about this place that makes it so synonymous with the black country?
00:28I think it's just the history that goes with it, the history of the black country, we're
00:31famous for manufacturing, the quality of the produce that comes out, and we're still carrying
00:35on after 109 years of good quality products. And is that a thing that more than a century
00:40later, it's still a black country thing, it's still brewed right here in the black country,
00:44and obviously you take pride in all your products. Absolutely, yes, we're in the new brew house
00:48just over the road, so it's traditional way of brewing. And how are you going to be celebrating
00:53black country day? I'm not too sure really, but we're doing something, there's a few things
00:58going in some of the pubs, there's a few offers and promotions we've got going. And maybe
01:01celebrating with maybe a few glasses of this? Yes, and a couple of cans of sunburst, yeah.
01:05All works for me, happy black country day.
